I feel this everytime when I already exceed an hour of looking at the computer: my eyes really ache and it even gets veiny-red sometimes! It's like the eyeballs are sore!
Do you guys experience the same thing?
If you do, then what to you do to solve this problem?
Please do share what's in your mind..

I would suggest you check the quality of your monitor and your resolution settings. If you have a small low-quality monitor set at a high resolution (things are smaller) things look out of whack and get fuzzy causing undue eyestrain. Just adjusting the resolution to something bigger so there is not as much strain involved will probably help. Next time you get a computer, put a high quality digital monitor and decent video card at the top of the list, your eyes will thank you for it.
Be sure to check the lighting you are using also. Is there glare on your screen from the sun or a lamp?

The resolution of my PC is at it's highest and I think the problem doesn't come from there. I really think there really is something wrong with my eyes. But thanks anyway for the suggestions!
Thanks too for this response and happy posting!

lol...yes I do feel this way quite often...But I thought I was the only one! It usually helps me to actually PUT ON my glasses, lol. I'm so bad about not wearing them. I also use eye drops to cool the redness and get off the computer for a bit. I get headaches alot when I'm online too much....So, I think I'd rather have the eye aches than the headaches, but both STINK! LOL

Now you know you're not alone my friend!
I also put on glasses to reduce the 'entrance' of the light in my eyes but I forget to do that almost all of the time. We all hope not to have any of those two body aches (head and eye aches) because those aches really give a bad day!
I'm wishing the both of us well!
Happy posting and thanks for this response!

You should make sure to step away from the computer screen for a break at least every half an hour or so. When was the last time you had your eyes checked? You might need to see your doctor or optician about your eyes, and at the very least you really should try not to spend too many hours staring at the screen

Yes! I used to get migrained from looking at the computer for too long since I work in an office and I deal with a computer the entire time basically. I got a filter for the screen which reduces glare and eye strain and haven't had a problem since. It was great investment so look into it.

Well, your case I think is a little different because yours is caused by migraine. But it's still good to note that you have already bought something that could reduce the pain that you're feeling! Getting a filter sure is a great investment!
Thanks for this response and happy posting!

It happens to me too, specially at night. I find myself staying up late on the computer, my eyes get to burning. Its a combination of staring at the bright screen and also being sleepy. You have to give your eyes a break now and then. I just had a bright idea, I don't know if it would work, I will have to ty it out myself. Wear sunglasses, that might help.

I think you should move as far as possible to computer and have your eyes rest for a while. You must have glued yourself to PC. If you could try to sleep better for your eyes. If you overdo it your eyes might start to ache and that would be a lot of discomfort for you for several days. Rest is the best cure for that discomfort.

AS SOON AS I START GETTING EYE STRAIN FROM MYLOTITIS I GET UP and do manual work, go for a walk or do some tai ji, that shifts the energy around a bit, because all my work is online, so I have to go on and off the computer at periodic intervals , otherwise It can make my brain completely cease up, including the rest of me.

I always joke around to my friends when they complain of something about themselves physically saying, "You know not a lot of people survive another day of that". Will its kind of too ominous but it will hit the point of asking what had you done to yourself gaining that complain from you.
Going back to your concern, usually our eyes reacts adversely to too much light & same goes for less of it. If you felt teary eyed & felt like a burning sensation then it is too much light so reduce as much light on your PC & in the room itself. I usually turn off all the lights in the vicinity of where i do my PC activities & reduce contrast also in my monitor. It helps also that you dont just focus too much on one particular page in your PC.
But if you still continue to feel adversely, with your eye, please do consult a professional, like i said to my friends - "Not many get to survive" what you just felt.
