I just read an article from PC World. They have listed 15 free utilities that do everything from protecting you against spyware, to giving you a comprehensive look inside your PC, and cleaning your Registry, to managing your media, and plenty more.
Check it out here http://www.pcworld.com/article/id,130721/article.html?tk=nl_cxadwn

Thank you for sharing the article, I have many free useful utilities and I often finds that whatever is sold for expensive prices you can find for free if you search deep enough, there are many talented programmers sharing their products for free (they only accept donations) and this is the good thing about the internet when people share their knowledge for free :)

I have heard of four or five of the programs on the list and have used one of them, the Eusing registry cleaner which is a good free application. Im sure they are all excellent programs but i stick to using what i know and the programs i know and use serve me perfectly, like utorrent for example is a better torrent client than the bloated, java requiring Azeurus.

Thanks for the info. I don't know a lot about these programs and welcome all the information I can get. What I've learned about the computer has happened when I accidentally mess something up! LOL. I remember tech support calls where I would describe something and the tech guy would say, "Wow...I don't think I've ever heard of that before". LOL

Darkness,
Where can you get utorrent? Is it free? I am computer-challenged. What makes it better than Azureus? I find Azureus easy to use and understand. Why is it bad that Azureus requires java? Lots of things require java.

Oh wow, thanks for sharing this info, estherlou. I definitely need to check on the link. Its getting pretty harder to maintain our PC. With so many sickos trying to damage our PC, it is better to have all the added utilities to keep our beloved PC protected.
