So what did everyone think about Ian's Paso Doble? The judges seemed to really be harsh on him and didn't seem to like it. I thought it was good and so has a lot of other people I have talked to. Now I do agree that Ian still seems a bit stiff when he dances. He needs to relax, but he was preforming a character in the dance. What do you think?

You too! I have always wanted to dance like that, but my husband is not interested in learning!

I thought Ian's Paso the other night was great. The judges are harder on him because he has so much potential. I mean, if Billy Ray Cyrus had performed Ian's Paso, they would have praised Billy Ray non stop. That's because we all know he can't do better. Ian can. And I am glad that he made it into the next round tonight. Although, even though Heather wasn't great, she WAS better than Billy Ray. And Billy Ray acts like he'd rather be somewhere else.

I never thought about it that way. You are probably right. Had Billy Ray done that same dance they probably would have praised him more. I think the judges tend to play favorites sometimes.

I don't know if maybe the pressure of having the 2 time champ as his partner has affected him? I think he is a good dancer but he is not great. It's too easy to contrast him with the truly hot male dancers on the show, Joey and Apollo. I thought that his paso was okay, but I couldn't help remembering Cheryl Burke doing similar paso moves in her dances with Drew Lachey and Emmitt Smith. I just don't see it here. I think Apollo will win it all, and I was saying that before his perfect 30 last week!
I do think that the judges are overly harsh on Ian, though. It's my feeling that they base their comments partially on what they perceive as the dancer's ability. So Billy Ray and John ("Cliff") get nicer comments about their effort and their heart because they're not very good dancers. They see that there is potential in Ian, and he's not fulfilling it, so they give him a hard time to try to get him motivated to perform to his potential.

You are probably right. The judges are probably being harder on him because he can do better and the fact that his partner is the two time reigning champ. I never thought about this point. Thanks for bringing it up.

At this point I don't want to see any of them leave, except maybe Heather.
Ian's Paso was a bit boring for me. I like fun and exciting which is what we got from all the other performances - Billy Ray, Joey, Apolo, Leila - all exciting dances. I actually hooted after Joey's performance. I found Billy Ray's dance entertaining. I know he needs to put a little more umph into dancing, but he is still fun to watch.
Heck, dancing is sexy no matter who is doing it (except Master P. LOL!). They are getting down to the tough decisions where almost everyone are on equal footing. However, there are a couple of standouts who have performed flawlessly throughout the whole season.

I, also, thought he did a good job. Not as good as Joey and Apollo, but he did great. I thought his facial expressions and everything were great.

I agree with you completely. He did a good job but Joey and Apollo were better. He preformed a character that I thought he did a very good job at.

I think it was okay. He was quite stiff and uptight. I guess being the last performer didn't work out for him. The judges saw very good performances from Apollo, Joey and Laila. I think his overall score was fair, though. He should loosen up a bit because he always looks like he's concentrating on his steps so as not to make a mistake. He must be very competitive that his dances look almost mechanical. I think he still has a significant fan base that will keep him in the competition. However, my vote goes to Apollo and Julianne. They're the best!

You have some really good points, but still think he did a good job at preforming the character of the dance. And, you are right about his fan base. It will most likely keep him in a little longer. I have been dividing my votes up between Ian, Joey, and Apollo. I like them!
