What is the most important thing that we need to teach children?

What do you think is the most important thing that we need to teach children? Why?

The number one thing that I try to teach my children is RESPECT. I used to work in a day care center and man are some of those children disrespectful. I want my children to be respectful to people no matter if they like them or not. Especially an adult. I don't like the talking back and yelling at an adult because you don't get your way.

There are many things we have to learn our children, to be resposable for their actions, to believe in God, to be very careful when they make new friends. The children from today are diffrent, they smoke, take drogs, carry weapons, have bad habbits. I am lucky because I never had such problems when I was little.
