My husband loves gas, I love the charcoal. So, I went to Walmart the other day and a guy working there sold me a charcoal grill and a propane tank!! lol JERK! Well, by the time my hubby got it together and figured out that it wasn't a gas grill ~ it was so late ~ we had to go ahead and use it! The kids were starving. So, now I guess we are stuck with the charcoal grill ;-) DARN IT!! ha ha...I really didn't do it on purpose but I'm kind of glad it happened! Which do you prefer? Why?

For me a BBQ has to be with a charcoal grill or else it's not a BBQ. I love the smell and taste of the charcoal. Hmmmmm, now I want one and since I live in an apartment in a big city, I only get to have a BBQ when I go to Florida to visit my brother. Now see what you have done, your going to make me go all the way to Florida just for a charcaol BBQ! Hahahha

See now I am completely opposite of the first person who responded. I love gas grills and I don't like the taste of the charcoal ones. I think that it makes my food taste funny.

I haven't used gas but a couple times so I just prefer charcoal because that's what I'm used to. Thanks for the response!

I prefer the charcoal, too. I love that taste and the smell is just wonderful! My dad cooks with propane all the time...not sure why. I think he likes that it's cleaner. My husband, though, is like me...he likes the charcoal just like I do. :)

I too love the taste that charcoal cooking but also love the convienence of gas grills. As a way to iprove the flavor of the gas grill I often use a smoke box with some soaked apple wood. Oh great now I am hungry !

This is funny, but I don't care. As long as the food doesn't burn on the grill, then I'll eat it.

When it is for outside Grilling I prefer Charcoal I guess Gas is easier but it is not the same at all to me for a Barbaque it is Charcoal or you might as well grill it under the Grill

I actually prefer wood! i will use charcoal, as it is so much easier, but I love to go camping and cook over the wood coals. When I use charcoal, I like to add wood chips to add a little woody flavor.

I prefer Charcoal, because when you cook it up, I just think it tastes so much better. Sure it takes a little more work when you are cooking, sometimes a lot of effort to get the darn thing lit, but I like using charcoal in my grill during those hot summer months.

I prefer charcoal without a doubt. For me, cooking on a Gas grill is just too much like cooking on the stove. I like the smoky flavor that charcoal gives, and I also use Hickory wood chips for extra flavor too. My partner is like your husband, he prefers Gas grills, I think it's the convenience of it, because with Gas you don't have to wait as long for it to be ready to cook on. I think I prefer charcoal because I'm sentimental lol. My father had a brick built charcoal grill, and I have a lot of fond memories of that as a young girl.

I personally prefer charcoal over propane. It is not the cleanest though. Propane is a little easier to clean up after, there are no briquettes and ash to get rid of as there is with charcoal, but you just can't replace the smell and taste of charcoal! I love to smell steaks on a charcoal grill. There is nothing like it! I don't care for Walmart these days. I am not surprised that they sold you a charcoal grill and a propane tank.
