How would you ask your boss for a raise..if you wanted one??

That's little hard. Because I was shy too. But if I think I should get a raise, I will ask for consulation with my boss. Then I will go to him and asked of course in polite way, If i can get a raise. I will explain to him, that I think I had done the best in my work. We just have to wait for the bosses's responses. And I don't hoping for the best either. But at least, we already have courage to say what's on our mind.

I'm like you, kinda shy, I think if I do my work to the best of my knowledge, that my boss would see how much work and how accurate my work is and give me the raise I'm supposed to have. If not, I would probably just stay in the category I've been in all the time. I never asked.

Unfortunately if I asked my boss for a raise I would not get one since it is not up to her or my other manager. It is up to our corporate office and management at our other location. They only give raises once a year and only give a certain small percentage, no matter how you performed. If I knew asking would do any good, I would ask but I am not in that position. It is almost time for another raise so hopefully I will get another one this year.
