LOL. of course, If you want to loose weight, you really need to work hard for it. you can never loose weight in a blink of an eye. walking is enough exercise. -and sorry if i do have the same topic as yours. I dont have the idea that you've made one. -thanks for responding!

I am a data entry specialist so I sit in front of a computer all day as well, but I try to lose the weight. Yes, it would be nice to lose the flab, but also just to be healthy. My goal is to lose 20 pounds so I can be in a healthy BMI range and FEEL healthier. I do cut the calories and work out, but it doesn't work. It is quite discouraging.

I try to not concentrate on my body image. I have a teenage daughter and she is self conscious enough about her own body without me adding to her fears with my own insecurities. I've come to a place in my life where my health is far more important than my body. I appreciate the fact that I am strong and healthy and that's good enough for me. I wish other women could come to terms with that too.

I try not to concentrate on my body image either, but it doesn't always work out. Yes, I want to be thinner, but it is mainly that I want to be healthier and have that show. At least a little.

I am VERY aware of my flab. But I cannot seem to lose weight, not even a measley pound! I try so hard too. I cut back on calories. I do pilates for an hour six days a week. I take walks. I eat healthy meals. Nothing seems to work. I know I am not bulimic because my clothes would reflect it in the size I wear. (My size isn't anything like a 2 and I want to be 00, a 10 would be nice.) It is really hard to try to stay motivated when nothing is working. I am still flabby and it is upsetting.

I understand that it is not easy to get your desired weight. but don't give up. NO PAIN, NO GAIN!. you really need to work hard for that, and be more patient. stay motivated and continue on what you are doing. exercise, eat healthy foods, avoid too much calories, drink lots of water. keep it up. it will help. although it will take some time. -thanks for responding!

Time to time try to check your foods, your routines and your way of life. I try to keep up my running and working out routine but it can get hard sometimes. I know I'm not fat and I know my BMI puts me at around normal weight and mass, but I just hope I can keep it that way and more importantly keep exercising as it keeps you healthy, plus I like fast food and soda so I have to work extra hard! I just look around America today and its frightening how overweight we are as a country in America. I don't know if we should be blaming the individual for letting themselves get that way, society for insisting one day we all be skinny and the next that it doesn't matter whats on the outside, fast food and technology making us lazy and fatter, or what to blame. Maybe a combination of all of those things. Its downright scary to tell you the truth. I see overweight people walking by eating junk food and avoiding physical activity and I wonder how the hell they can be content knowing that their overweight body not only hurts their outward image but will do them in healthwise as they get older. How can people have such disregard for their bodies I wonder.

I might be a male, but I am very, very self-conscious about my weight. I wish I was skinnier, and I try to resolve any of my weight issues pretty much on a daily basis. I try to eat less, and I try to work out. Although it doesn't work out very often, I do care about it. I just wish that I had the cohones to step up to committing to weight loss.

Its good to know that you have discipline when it comes to your health. Yes you are right, most of the people lived in america are overweight. maybe its because the food in there contains lots of calories. And people were so lazy to exercise. Just continue on what you are doing! -thanks for responding!

Every time I see myself in the mirror, I really get frustrated. Every time I wear my clothes, I also get frustrated because they have became tight on me. It really drives down my self confidence and self esteem. I am ashamed to face old friends and relatives because of their reaction that I have gotten fat! The feeling is really frustrating, but since I am always busy at work and at house chores I don't even have time to do any exercise. If only there's an easy and sure way to loose weight, I would really like to try it.

I think I am. I got like this 3 years ago after I had my daughter. I gained so much weight its disgusting. And I find myself losing some it and then I'll look in the mirror and still not satisfied. My hubby always tell me you still look good but I think hes lying because I don't see anything sexy about having a big stomach.

I am concerned with my weight for medical reasons. However I don't worry about it for image too much. I will not do anything to not get fat. To put so much focus on your weight and that your friends think it is too much sounds like you may have an eating disorder. It is just as, if not more unhealthy, to be underweight than overweight. Take Care and maybe talk to your doctor about this. Vicki

Oh I'm very fat conscious! I am big boned and everything so if I gain weight it shows and makes me look aot bigger..I am chubby as it is and I can't stand even looking at myself let alone anyone else looking at me naked.. I don't eat much at all I might eat once a day if that.. and I still gain weight...Most of my weight or where I am the biggest at is around the middle....

I was stick thin all my life to the point where people thought I was really sick but I wasn't. I was just born that way. However, after a couple kids and a thyroid problem, I put on about 26 pounds from my 120 pounds that I feel comfortable at. It was terrible. I dieted and exercised but did nothing crazy though. That was about seven years ago and I have been 120 pounds (5'5") give or take a few pounds ever since. I eat well and exercise some (I should do much more) but I just don't eat a lot of fat or too much junk. I am VERY lucky to be 43 and not battling weight but, if I do start to put on a few pounds, it hits me in my stomach and I know it immediately. I will back off the calories a bit and try to do a bit more exercise and it usually settles down. I want to be healthy first and foremost and would never do anything to risk that. If you are anorexic, you restrict calories, try to eat as little as possible and sometimes use water pills and laxatives to lose weight. Bulimics tend to binge on huge amounts of food then throw it up. Sometimes anorexics over exercise (hours of very heavy cardio) and restrict. I I know a few anorexics and one bulimic and their health is just a mess yet they want to reach that elusive number (In one case 79 pounds!). Most anorexics can tell if others are fat, it is their own bodies that they feel are fat or not good enough. They look in a mirror and see imperfections and fat when others see a thin or skinny person. But yes, I am body conscious and I try hard to do everything healthy and not obsess to the point where it interferes with my life in a major way. I just know I could never be happy overweight. I was there when I was 146 and I was totally miserable and hated it so I hope I can maintain a reasonable weight and stay healthy doing it! I will never resort to do anything unhealthy to lose weight though. I know if I do it right, the weight will come off and I won't suffer any ill effects.
