I got many suggestions for using Avast so i got that and at present I am using this. I hope it is more affective than the others I have used in the past.

Mcafee and NOD32. I prefer NOD32 because it has the best detection rate and it doesn't use a lot of resources unlike Norton Anti-virus.

I was using McAfee. I still use them for my firewall. Currently I'm not running with any. Sure does run faster without one, but I wouldn't recommed what I'm doing. Dexter

I've used Kaspersky and NOD32 + ZoneAlarm, but i was disappointed that they used system resources for nothing. I currently run no antivirus/firewall in background so my computer runs smoothly and fine. Just a spyware scan and an online antivirus scan periodically launched should keep my computer clean. :) Good luck!

the best antivirus is kaspersky, as it takes care of all antivirus and spyware needs without being too heavy on the system. norton and mcaffee are major resource hoggers. another great anti virus is NOD32 from ESET. it is remarkably lightweight yet efficient.

I've been using Norton Anti-Virus for years and so far so good. They have lived up to their reputation of providing a virus free PC for me. Updates are always readily available for download.

Norton is solid. Used by banks all over the planet. Don't trust people who recommend free anti viruses

i use Avast Anti-virus now!! its amazing...its an intense scanner...that doesnt let the adwares and viruses even peek 2wards ur computer!! i had norton before...but my laptop started becoming slower n slower day by day! it always showed ' no virus, adware on your computer' every tym i performed a scan!! but when i loaded the Avast A-V...it detected 3 adwares...and that too in the windowz file ((it had managed to instal itself there!) imagine the damage tht cud hav happened!! nyway....after that i havnt even looked twice at nortan!! and im very proud of avast!!^_^

My boyfreind and I have AVG-anti virus on his computer, I personally think it sucks so I recently downloaded the trial version of AVAST antivirus, which I personally like better. I'm hoping that we can eventually buy the actuall program.

I got rid of Norton which came with the computer and replaced it with AVG and am happy with that. I think good anti-virus protection is essential for those of us who are on the net regularly. :)

I have vcom. I'm not sure how it stacks up against others but it has everything I need - anti virus, firewall, anti spam, and all the other utilities that u would get with norton system works. Nothing bad so far. I like it 'cause it was cheap and had everything. I didnt have to buy seperate firewall, anti virus and ultilities
