hi! i send my emails directly to the concerned individuals. however we can make use of the cc and bcc when there are other individuals that need to be informed but may not be in direct connection with your email. in my work, cc or carbon copy is sent to individuals who are connected to the addressee, like the employer, supervisor, manager, assistant, secretary or other company email or secondary email. anybody whom would benefit you or the addressee when information is communicated with them or coursed thru with them. this also for your security, should the addressee claim that no such email was sent to them. your cc would bear your proof that indeed it was sent to the addressee. this can be traced. bcc or blind carbon copy is used when you want to inform somebody about the email but you don't want the addressee or the cc to find out about it.

As far as i know, BCC is used to send the mail to someone, whose ID are not visible to others whom the mail is sent, or he/she is not able to see whom else the mail has been sent to. In case of CC it is the person involved too. But both the other recipients can see this ID
