I am interested in knowing strategies to reduce kids obesity and/or ways to avoid kids get too much weight. In my kid school the have started a game in which every kid get points if they bring healthy snacks instead fatty ones,. It has worked very well. Do you know about any other strategy?

Don't feed your kids lunchroom food! Pack healthy lunches instead. Feed kids whole, natural foods as much as possible. Start being active yourself. Kids see what you eat and how active you are. Do these things and your kids will, too (eventually.). Don't give the kids a choice of what to eat for snacks, or only two choices, such as, Do you want fruit or veggie strips? No sugars, dyes. Don't "treat" them with junk food for being good. This in a kid's eyes means that when having to eat good food, they've been bad. Also, sweeten cookies, cakes, etc with fruit puree. Heat 1/4 cup apple juice cocentrate (the frozen stuff) and mix with 1/2 cup raisins or prunes. Heat 3 min in microwave or on stove. Puree in blender and add to recipe.
