Superman movies today are a lot different to the ones
that they made in the 1940s and 1950s.Superman looked very ordinary in those movies as opposed to todays ones. For example from Superman the Movie onwards older cinema going Superman fans will notice that Superman's costume looks smooth, absolutely form fitting and unruffled. One can believe that it is made of some sort of silk material.Looking at stills from early productions one can see the difference. In one photograph from "Superman And The Mole Men" you can see that the Super costume is made of some knitted fabric, maybe wool. You can also see the creases at the elbows and knees. The scenes where Superman is flying
leaves a lot to be desired as well.Would this make Superman a more believeable character?I dont know, but I like seeing Superman this way.Although this is way before my time,I like George Reeves as Superman. He looks just like your regular guy in a knitted ordinary outfit.Incidently many fans consider George Reeves "The One And Only Superman" and George
himself thought that the television series was the bottom of the barrel.

I realize that many outstanding movies about Superman are available with great stories, but I still like George Reeves. I never tire of watching the old Superman TV series.
