Do you burn your trash or does the city pick it up?

I have a regular trash day when the city picks up the garbage and recyclables.

We've always done some of both. Garbage service is expensive enough for just one can, so we save where we can. It's cheaper to burn.

You have the option? Our deed restrictions forbid burning of trash, so we don't have the option at all.

We live on the edge of a small town. Although we are within city limits, we are on 4 acres and not very near any other houses.

Regular trash pick. I think burning your trash can be a good idea, but only if the area you live in permits it and only if you're burning non-hazardous materials. I heard a story of one family who was plagued with mysterious illness because the trash burning neighbor had released harmful chemicals by burning tires. Be careful of what you burn.

You know, there are only specific places where you can even dump tires because of the toxins put off with the burn. You are right, though, use caution. Thanks for your response.

Burning is only allowed sometimes here, plus I live in a rental. So the landlord pays for our garbage to be picked up once a week. Its really rural here, so recycling isn't offered.

Do you mean burning is only allowed when it isn't too dry out? That's interesting. Thanks for your post.
