My son was 2 1/2 when I put him in a good daycare. The owner was very strict, and routine. This worked wonders for my son, you could tell within the first week how much he was learning just from being around other children. I then put him in head start @ 3 1/2 (which if you don't know is like a pre-k) and he loves it! They go on feild trips and have parades. It is definatly better than sitting in the house all day at the babysitter's watching tv!

My children wasn't able to start school until they were atleast three. If you are able to let your son start school now I don't see what it could hurt. Their best learning years are surpose to between birth and five years.

Why cis everone in such a herry to get these babies out of the house and into school. For crying out loud a 2 1/2 yearold is still a baby. They are being pushed too hard and too fast. We raised whole generations of kids that started school at 5 years old and they did and are doing fine. If you are concerned about your baby being left behind read to him a lot Play counting games and coloring with him.

I think your son may benefit from a part time daycare type setting. Most "schools" won't take him at 2 1/2. My daughter started PreK 4 about 3 months before her 4th birthday, and we had to send her to a private school because most public schools don't have any programs for children this age unless they are considered "at risk." Howeve, at your sons age it would be good to have him in a setting where he can interact with kids his own age, and prepare for his school career.

well, even if im not a mom yet.. but if given a chance to have one.. i will let my kid go to school (toodler school) at the age of 2.. just to let my kid develop his/her intellectual aspect and growing years... but we could still help in that.. 2yrs old is the starting years of the kid to be curious on so many things.. as long as you can afford to enrol your kid to a toddler school then why not.. its the start of making friends anyway.. :)
