I've become germ obsessed. I'm always washing my hands and I shower like three times a day and I always carry Purell and Lysol wipes so I can wipe things down before I use them or touch them. Help me, what should I do? This really starting to effect my day to day life...

please, stop this now! You will make yourself poorly!I used to panic and clean everything because of the children, I now have worse asthma and strange dry patches on my skin. My boys caught more bugs too as they did not build resistance to bacteria. If you feel it is out of control then you know it's by a lot, please see someone who can help you as something triggered this and you need to face whatever that was. Clean is good, too much clean is bad, just tidy up and leave the dust and grime for another time.

Since when and cause of what you start to act so? There must be some reasons behind and thats probably the rootcause of it.

Did you know that it is bad to constantly disinfect yourself? You are killing bacteria that your body needs to prevent you from getting sick all the time. Just try to cut back on all of it, remind yourself that you are clean and your house is clean, you don't have to obesess.

I am pretty germaphobic myself. I went through having to wash my hands and use disinfectant wipes but my hands became so dry from the constant washing that I now had to carry lotion with me as well. No matter how much lotion I used my hands would still be irritatingly dry. You just have to tell yourself that you are damaging your skin and to cut back on it. You can be too clean and as another poster said you can be killing bacteria that you are supposed to have. Good bacteria that is there to fight off the bad ones. You need these to survive. Just one shower a day should be enough unless you workout then two, but if you aren't sweaty or stinky you really don't need so many baths. This is bad for skin and hair. Just remember that.
