i just dropped off my little girl at school this morning. and i heard the national anthem song they play in the morning (oh canada). now when i was a kid it was a simple melody, they have changed the melody and hiped it up so much. it's the same words but a completely different updated beat. can people change a national anthem like that. should it not stay the same classic one.

In my opinion I think the anthem should sound the same as the day it was developed. I think that if it was good for the people years gone by it should be good for the people to come. However, why should the anthem be different from anything else. When you say the pledge of allegience of America people want to take out the words under god. There are people that want to take the bible out of the court house. What was good for our forfathers aparently are not good for people today. Some change is good but other is not.

Maybe they are just trying to make it sound "cool" so the kids will take an interest. Kids tend to run from anything old and "classical" sounding.
