Working for the Weekend?

Sometimes the working world drives me nuts, especially here in Canada.
Why is it that our weekend is only 2 days long, but our workweek is 5 days? It doesn't seem that fair does it?
Maybe we should all petition to make the workweek 4 days and the weekend 3? That seems a little more even doesn't it? :)
It drives me nuts because all week things get put off because you don't have enough time.. I'm only at home with my own time between 5:30 pm and 10:30 when I go to bed, so that's only 5 hours to get everything I want to get done, done. And then the weekend comes and the whole first day it's all rush-rush-rush to get stuff done and you really only get Sunday to rest up for the next 5 days.
So frustrating!

I have the same problem. Never enough time. I wonder how my mom ever found the time to do everything. I don't even have kids and between work and housework it seems Sunday is the only time I have to myself and then I usually get called into work anyways. I can't remember the last time I had a real weekend. I would love a 4 day week, as long as I am paid for 5! It drives me crazy too!

Think yourself lucky. My job is only on the weekend ( I work at an amusement park that is only open sat & sun )& for the past 2 weeks I have not had 1 shift at all...so for 2 weeks I have no pay at all. Considering there are certian people at my work that get 2 shifts each weekend & I don't get 1 I am not very happy. Thing is I am not qualified to do anything else.

Been there, done that. I know what you mean. I've been on disability from work for 1 year and 4 months now because of cancer and a few surgeries. I'm gonna hate getting back into that 5 day work week. I don't miss the stress or the traffic at all. If I didn't need the health insurance I wouldn't consider going back.

That's why I'm not working. I don't feel like trading my time for a paycheck right now. I would like to work, but I will never again do something that I hate, or something that is just a little over minimum wage.Time is too precious. If I had to work, I would, but right now it just seems silly.
