Are you a Filipino? God forbid if you are because you have just shamed your own people in an international forum! :( Haven't you considered that there are so many here from different countries who can read your post? Why do you have to focus on the bad side of a small portion of Filipinos? WE ARE NOT ALL LIKE THAT! Why not talk instead about the generosity of our people? The smiling faces and graceful hospitality that foreigners take with them when they leave the Philippines? The sense of brotherhood and bayanihan that is still very much alive especially in the provinces. It is sad when there someone generalizes a race and concludes unfairly how bad these people are. I have posted this, not to offend you, but simply to stand up for my fellowmen and show the world that more than the bad habits that people like you tend to show about us, there are more good Filipinos than bad. I hope you consider that. Next time you want to trash a nation or a group of people, kindly post your views on a local forum.

God forbid me if I have sinned because of this. I understand your views regarding on this matter. I am a Pinoy and will always proud of that. However, in my own thinking, I did not post this discussion to trash our nation but to open the eyes of some undecipline citizen in our country. I did not said that all of us has this habits as you see on the title Some Filipino bad habits. As I understand, I do not gereralize the character of our people. And in terms of Positive discussion, why not take a look with some of my other discussion. You will that I am not focusing on our negative side. I am also writting this, because we really want realization to think better or to change for better. All races have negative sides and let's the be ashame if we have one. This is just a proof that we are a race, we are imperfect.

Thank you for clarifying why you started this discussion. However, you should have stated your true intentions in the first place instead of simply enumerating the bad habits because the post is truly misleading. I'm sure there are readers like me who will take it as a criticism of the Filipinos as a whole. My point is, you could have at least took time to explain or introduce your discussion with something like "I'm a Filipino and am saddened that there are some of my countrymen who are practicing some bad habits like .... I hope these practices can be eliminated from our country." I stand by my original obervations that the way you wrote your post initially was done in poor taste. I hope you're open-minded enough to take this kind of criticism so that next time, you could at least generate the correct impression you really wanted to project. Peace!

My top 2 hatest Filipino habits are: 1. spitting anywhere 2. throwing trash everywhere I really don't know why they keep on doing that and yet they are the ones who demands change and everything. They complain about flood, about pollution yet most of them are the ones who causes it.

In addition, many Filipinos still do not plan their families. It's very sad to note that families living below the poverty line are the ones producing more children despite their situation. Worst is these parents can afford to make them but can't afford to provide their needs so they grow up suffering from malnutrition and lack of education.

I agree with you. I have seen situations like that in real life. Majority of Filipinos just have do it and make kids but doesnt think of the future. Its sad to say but these practices are even done by young people. I know some friends of mine who has kids but doesnt even care about them. God, help our country.

Yeah, those are the very yucky habits of most Filipinos. OMG, how can we wipe these habits? I myself, I am not doing any of those things. I am truthful, can't tolerate those things either. I hate people doing these. They are so stubborn and don't seem to care at all. I hope will have law(s) to be implemented so as to eradicate these bad habits among Filipinos. So shameful having these people doing these things.

Yes, those are true. It's difficult to stop them. We need discipline but it must come from the top although we should do our part to be a law-abiding and peaceful citizen. Unless we develop discipline, our country would be slow to progress.

these are things Filipino does in the Philippines but when a Filipino is outside their country they tend to follow rules and stick to it. i think this is more on the mentality of the filipinos that it is okay not to obey the laws because you can just pay the cops or you can ask a padrino to talk it out for you. most filipinos have these habits BUT definitely NOT all filipinos do these.

the colonial mentality... we love adoring foreign products, yet sometimes we make fun of our own filipino products. like movies for example. but we can't help it if filipino movies are way so bollywood...
