Does anyone have any natural remedies for a bladder infection? I hate for my daughter to keep taking anti-biotics since it kills off the good bactiera. Any ideas for natural remedies that really work would be appreciated. Thanks!

Yes I read somewhere that cranberry juice is effective especially if one is prone to having a UTI (urinary tract infection). However in my coutnry cranberry juice is quite expensive and difficult to find. The best thing to drink in my country is coconut water(juice from the young coconut- not the ones you get coconut milk from. Coconutis classified as functional food because it is highly nutritious. It is rich in fiber, vitamins and minerals. Some of the benefits of taking coconut in one form or another: kills bacteria that causes ulcer, throat infections, urinary tract infections, gum disease and cavities, pneumonia, and gonorrhea, expels or kilss ringworm, tapeworm and other parasites, helps relieves symptoms of gallbladder disease. This is a home remedy for people suffering from bladder infection: http://www.my-natural-cures.com/illnesses/bladder-infection.html It is suggested that you drink tender coconut water for three to four days.

You can get cranberry in a capsule form. I'd go to a good health food/nutrition supplements store. Sometimes you can find an herbal blend to take to prevent bladder infections, something similar to this http://www.naturesway.com/NaturesWay/productdetail.aspx?productid=110 Also eat yogurt or take probiotics to replace the good bacteria lost from taking antibiotics.

Even though Cranberry juice and Cranberries are touted for helping the kidneys with infections and stones, they are also very effective when it comes to bladder infections. After a while our bodies will build up an intolerance to certain anti-biotics and they won't work. The best way is to stick with the natural way of doing things. I say try the juice first to clear up the infection, then add cranberries or juice as a daily or every other day addition to the diet. Many stores also sell cranberry pill supplements, but the juice and berries are better for you.

I have to go along with the cranberry juice idea, it does help with bladder infections. I don't think it cures them entirely, but it apparently helps flush the bacteria out quicker. I've personally found it always helped me.

I suffer from a lot of bladder infections as well . For either a bladder or a yeast infection they say cranberry juice is really good to help prevent them but honestly I don't remember which one it is for . I always end up drinking some when I feel any infection coming on and can say that I don't have as many today as I used to have . It is something easy you can try . Make sure she doesn't sit in places that are cold either as this will bring on bladder infections as well . Best of luck !!

try making a cranberry/lemon juice cocktail. using 100% pure cranberry juice (unsweetened if you can) and a tablespoon or so of real lemon juice. it helps to clean out the urinary system. sugar will hasten the growth of the bad bacteria, so try to avoid it. yogurt will help the good bacteria to replenish itself. or get some acidiphilus capsules

I would suggest fresh coconut juice in the morning. Because its water as many healing and cleansing properties. And it promotes more easier liquid disposal. And maybe to avoid salty and too much sugar liquid can be recommended. I hope I have help. Have a nice day Wachit! (^^,)

I am not sure how old your dd is .. But, I have always had Horrible problems with bladder AND Kidney infections. I get them monthly and oten multiple times. I have tried so many things. Have you taken her to a specialist? I went on a daily small LOW dose antibiotic for a while and that seemed to help a litle. Also I now take cranberry pils a day I take a lot of them i take two after each meal and lots of water.. You can get flavored water to encourage her to drink it but she should drink TONS of water. Also, I take something called acidilphious extra that I get at Publix in the pharmacy area near herbs. Its made by sundown. I LOVE this. I started taking it and its helped me a TON .. I have only had two infections since I began taking it. I take two of these a day... with lots of water.. Also cranberry juice is good... But i can not stand it.. its too gross IMO. So I do the Cran Grape LOVE LOVE it and its just as good I think per the nurses when I was in the hospital. I am srory she is going through that.. It is a hard thing to get it hurts .. If you get the AZO pills for her they are also sold with cranberry at the pharmacy too and they help with the pain and are not dangerous from what i have read.. they do however turn urine orange.. but it helps with the pain. take care!
