Are you addicted to the Internet??

I am so addicted. I know it and i guess i don't care. When i am asleep i dream about being on line. When i get up in the middle of the night i think about getting on to check my email or check and see how mylot is doing without me. First thing i do is turn on my computer then go make coffee and run back in here and get on line. Some times i don't do anything just sit and watch the computer. But I have to be here. I take my lap top when I go out. which isn't often) so I can get on line when I can find a wireless connection. I am so addicted I am afraid of being without Internet for even an hour. I always pay my Internet bill and electric bill and other bills suffer. I don't care about my phone. If someone calls me I talk as little as possible so I can get back on my computer.If i didn't have it for long i would have withdrawals symptoms which in my case would be becoming irritable and just unpleasant to be around. Don't take away my Internet. I am not concerned about it because I like it. Its like my drug of choice. Are you as addicted as i am?? or can you quit anytime you like?? lol

LOL, i am so glad that I am not the only one dreaming about being online while I am sleeping. Oh yes I am very addicted to the internet. I don't think I can quit the internet I would go insane, I pay for the ineternet service and my hubby pays the rest of the bill and he knows how I am with the internet even if we go on vacation I worry about the internet and he says forget the internet have some fun. He sometimes says they need a IA (Internet Annomous) whatever you spell it.

I suppose there are a lot of people that are continually on the computer and attached to the internet for long periods of time. It does show a lot of the same people here at mylot so there must be a lot of addicted people.

I think i'm addicted to internet in the sense of business . I like to make post in forums , chat room & etc & learn something from other's members post from which I can learn & build up my ability & learn from those experts in internet business & so on .... pray for my success ...TQ

I thought i could call my internet usage an addiction until i just read what you wrote. I spend about 7 hours per day on the internet and have spent upwards of 15 hours per day using the internet on weekends. As i said, i thought i was bad your taking it to a whole different level lol.

I feel the same way. I spend 8-10 hours a day on the Internet. My housework suffers, and my marriage is in trouble. I have to force myself to get off long enough to do
the dishes and cook supper. I feel like an awful person at times, but I hate it when I am not on the Internet.

I am definitely an addict to mylot, blogging and games online. Unfortunately I can't be here all the time, I have house works to do, pet to take care of, and I also run my own shop at day time. It's irritating sometimes, but well somebody has to do it.

Geeee, This must be a catch 22. Anybody that denies being an addict is automaticaly considered an addict because denial is a part of addiction. I dont know if I'm addicted to the internet, I've been on the internet since 1995 and actually I've gotten kind of bored with the internet itself. I do think I might be addicted to Mylot but thats something else all together. Thanks and take care!!

haha. a roller coaster thought. but still ends up with you having a good point here twils. yup. i too sometimes find myself bored already with the internet. i only visit sites which are important to me everyday. beyond them, i no longer surf a lot.

There used to be a mosntrous technological enemy before that takes the brunt of most blames, it was TV - though it is still taking hits, but it has company now - the internet. The interesting things is, unlike TV, the internet dont seem to have the same demise of negative comments from various sectors that knows better what is good & what is not.
Reading mssnow, comments, its a bit dark & concerning, but obviously one that is not unique & uncommon for many who uses the internet. There are clinics & hospitals in China created specifically for this "epidemic" surprisingly most of its patients are teens that have been more involved in online games.
Its the story of addiction among the adult populace that is always unheard of for whatever reason, & one that is obviously hard to declare.
Time will tell if this is really is something to be concerned about at the level of medical practitioners advice, since for now it is just generally called internet addiction - too broad for any temporal medication be suggested.
Life as we know has evolved again affected by technology.

I believe you have officially reached the ultimate state of being an Internet junkie! I don't know if I'm too but I'm definitely working towards that direction... I have a list of at least 10 website that I visit over and over again and 4 different emails that I check every 5 minutes... but I don't take my laptop with me wherever I go. Buuut I do check the Internet when I am in other houses and my friends try to cut me off that thing but they can't because I like it! maybe I'm addicted after all :DDD

I am very addicted to my lovely internet.
I am on and off it so much throughout the day and I about die when it goes down for whatever reason. Drives me nuts to not be able to jump on and check things.
On vacations most of the time I have to go without like I do at home. We do have a laptop now we can take with us, but not always the connection to get on sadly.

I've been left without internet before, and i'll do it again. I really think that for me its something I can give up, simply because I don't do much on it and I loose interest very fast. If I didn't want the money i'd get bored with mylot, its just that way for me. I think that some people can become addicted to the computer because its easier than talking to people in person, they don't know you therefore they don't matter to you. I don't know about my husband though i think that he's addicted to computer games, because he's always playing them.

I think so. I keep on thinking about the internet when i go to sleep. It always excites me. lolz. Whenever i can't use my computer, it seems like my day is not complete. lol

i think there's many of us who gets attached in it in some ways at some time and in varying degrees, but really once you get the hang of it, you'll loosen up using the net, especially if you have other interests and hobbies that you also enjoy doing.
