What do you think? Is X Japan the best speed, progressive metal japanese band? I find it the best, their music has really touched me, they actually introduced me to the whole speed metal, which I found quite exciting. Their ballads also are extraordinary tearjerkers. Their crazy outfits, big colored hair and make-up and great acting on scene just makes them the best band I've ever seen on a stage, next to KISS. They simply are the best...

Yes, he was a great guitarist, and influenced fashion, especially in Japan, but most of all a great man and friend, as his band mates would say. May that his soul rest in peace...

oh yeah, Yoshiki should be an example to all drummers in the world. When I first saw the blue blood tour, I was almost crying at how spectacular the concerts were, Yoshiki put so much energy in playing, as well as every other member of the band. It almost made me cry of happiness. They're just fabulous.

Yoshiki is the reason I started playing drums. I'm still not very good, but he's my inspiration and keeps me going. All the same, I'll NEVER get to the kind of standard he plays at.

you can't deny the fact that they are a legend in japan. They are known as the 'Fathers of Japanese rock' and their songs are really good.

Yes, that is a great nickname for them. Although makes them seem a little older than they are :D

I must agree.. X Japan was the first j-rock band I heard and I instantly just fell in love with their music. Not only that, but they also opened up my mind for music in other languages. Nevertheless, X Japan remain my favourite Japanese band of all. I only discovered them once they had already disbanded - I was SO sad! So now I'm so excited that they've reunited (although without hide.. and that makes me sad) and if they come to London, I'll just cry with happiness. If they don't... I don't even want to think of that possibility.

They will have a concert in Paris on the 22nd of November. I really wished I could participate, but the budget and the date won't allow me...

I think X Japan is one of the most enduring bands, despite all that they have been through with breaking up and losing hide. People still listen to X Japan, and their music has only continued to spread and gain popularity world-wide. Their music is so universal and beautiful. They established themselves and have continued to grow in spite of everything. Even the projects of the band members away from X Japan have seen relative success. Yoshiki has done so much, worked with so many other musicians. A lot of young bands all over Asia have so much respect for X Japan. It's really touching and just goes to show what a phenomenon X Japan has become.

Yes, it's so astonishing that Yoshiki can do magic collaborating with others and even on his own. It shows how much of a genius he is. Some people used to say that he has Mozart's soul and that comparison is no exaggeration, he sure is like a modern compositor.
