Sometimes, i do collect and file up things, only when time runs and I realize some of the things are not really needed to be kept. I usually collect used call cards, magazines, pins, chocolate wrappers.
Others arew old receipts...I ended up a full pack garbage to throw.Do you keep things?Or just throw things at once.

The only thing I collect nowadays are plastic containers, and formula milk cans because I will sell them to the junk shops afterwards. I usually de-clutter and dispose things I don't need once a month to give space to things that we will really need.

I take after my mom and she is a pack rat. She can't stand to throw anything away. I am the same way. When I clean out my closets where I have stuff put away and plan on throwing some of the things away I just can't bring myself to. I might throw a few things away but not enough to tell that I have cleaned up the area. My husband laughs at me. He tells me I am just like my mom.

Same here! After I straighten up one part of our house, my husband would almost always ask increduously, "You're done? Did you clean? Why are all those stuff still there?!" And then I'll smile and say, "Don't worry, these are for storage." And I'll proceed to put them away in my stash areas. He could only roll his eyes and shake his head :p

Oh gosh, I am! I'm such a pack rat that I drive my husband crazy most of the time! :) I can't bring myself to throw away things that I have attached meanings to. So imagine the boxes and other containers I have stashed on top of our closets -- plenty!
I guess I inherited this trait from my grandma and mom, they're the same way. But you know what? I so love coming across very old things in my mom's house when I was still living there - faded photographs of my ancestors, tax receipts dating from the early 1900's and old magazines from the early '50s! I am always awed to know that I am holding a piece of history and that in olden days, somebody has treasured them too.
Perhaps it is this kind of thinking that makes me hold on to things important to me now. That of wishing that someday one of my kids or their children will come across one of my things and go "Aw, this was grandma's!"
