I am on 40 units lantus and 3 x15 novorapid per day and still find have blood sugar levels between 12 and 20. I am not over weight but do not get the exercise that I perhaps should even though I do about 7K steps during a normal day.I am a businessman and do endure heavy workloads and stress.I am experiencing what I think are odd sensations and sometimes as though my mind is not in control,- like a fogginess causing slow thinking. There are tingling feelings in my legs and round my lips.I do not feel as I am on top of my game at this point in time.Do you think that this is due to insufficient exercise and not a strict enough diet? As I increase the insulin under doctors orders my blood sugars seem to rise and another adjustment is needed in a short space of time. Is it possibily the wrong insulin?

My husband was a diabtic and tryed the lantus as the dr prescribed and did not work for him. The lantus for some reason would not last as long as it was suppose to. The doctor had to get him off of it and put him on humalog and thing worked great then. You said you blood sugars are 12 and 20 I hope you mean 112 120 and to all people do not run normal as 100. my husband feel better at 120 then at 100 where most dr would like you to be. I have also been in the nursing field for years and have seen this in a lot of people that they do better with sugars little higher then average. I would go back to the dr about the tingling and things. That could be a sign that the insulin is not working right. You should not have them feelings those are signs for a dietbic stress.
