Now that the warm weather is here and sandals are the big item in foot wear, how do you deal with the callouses and dry skin?
I was sitting down today soaking my feet to soften those nasty heels that look like a dry sunbaked river bed. You know what I am talking about, nylons snag and run on them and there is no lotion made that will fix it. Forget satin sheets, it is liking wearing cowboy boot spurs to bed.
I have to soak them, use the equivelent of a cheese grater on them, pumice them, use a nutshell scrub, and then use a course emory board to finish it off. Then and only then will lotion have any effect.
I used to use a dremel to sand them off and my kids would beg me not to do it when there friends were around. It wasn't long after that they started borrowing my dremel to take care of their feet.
So what do you find works to take care of those dry cracked heels and callouses? Any great ideas?

Try this :
If you take 1 cup Lemon Juice, Cinnamon (for smell), 2 tablespoons (or less) olive oil, 1/4 cup of milk, and water you can make a wash that leaves skin refreshed and fragrant (the amount of water does not matter).
If you do not like the cinnamon smell you can replace it with another spice, perfume, or flower petals such as roses.
After you make it, you can put it in a tub were you can soak your feet or body.
Next dry your feet or rinse them with water and a MILD soap.
After a few weeks of doing this your skin will be silky smooth (hopefully)

These things really worked for me -
The moment you are done with your bath, moisturise your hands, face and feet with a really good moisturiser. If you bathe in the morning, follow this up with a layer of sunscreen lotion on your face, hands and feet again. In the night, wash your hands and feet and repeat.
If you bathe in the evening, then wash your hands, face and feet in the morning and dab them with moisturiser.
Another option is to wash your feet in rose water and coat them witha layer of almond oil just before going to bed.
