What should you do with a crying baby?

Since we can't shoot them we have to peal it back to something that makes sense. Is there any rational in letting them "cry it out" or are babies always crying because of a lack of communication

I cant stand a baby's cry. A friend of mine has a ringtone that sounds like a cry of a baby, it has always been scary to hear it. A asked him to change it and he does. About why babies cry, i think the answer varies. Common sense teaches me that babies cry when then wish to express their need, hurt or dislike of something.

It take a mother at least a week or more to learn to read the cry of her baby. They have a different cry for different thing. A pain cry sounds a lot different than a hungry or dirty diaper cry. I had an aunt that just had to cry. There was nothing to be done for her but let her cry. When she had cry enough she would just stop the same way that she started. I have a fan that I have to have on in order to get to sleep. It shuts out the little noises that wake one up. If it’s not on It will walk me up after about 30 min. Some where I saw where the baby was put on the dryer and the dryer turned on and the slight motion put the baby to sleep.

How does one know the differnce between certain crys? Is it in th ebond of the mother and the child? That the mother just knows what can be wrong and what isn't.. the random acts that shape your childs life can be quite profound and abstract when consided objectively

After awhile you can tell what the cry is for, like if my son wanted milk he'd be smacking his lips or cramming his fingers in his mouth, if he was wet-he'd look uncomfortable, if it was gas-he'd squirm all over the place. There is no reason to let a baby cry it out, it can actually harm babies http://www.askdrsears.com/html/10/handout2.asp They can't talk, so crying is how they communicate. I taught my son a few signs, so as he got older it would be easier for me to know what he wants.
