i'm having a hard time with the mouse traps. my father owns aparetment buildings, he's out of town and left me in charge to go over and deal with a mouse problem for one of his tenents. but i'm so scared of setting up those traps. every time i set it up, i slowly let go it it doesn't hold properly and snaps back and scares the begeesies out of me. i'm so scared to get my fingers caught in it.
have anyone used somehting else that works good. do those mouse traps that just close over the mouse, do they actually keep the mouse in cause the back side ends up being a little open and mice can go through very small holes.
any advice to catch these little things would help. thanks

Go buy the glue traps. They work great and no pinched fingers. The mouse goes to eat the bait and is stuck in the glue. We used them in our garage. Then you just pick up the trap and throw the whole thing away.

ok i just caught the last mouse, i used the glue traps. worked great. it was a baby mouse so that's why he wasn't getting caught in the other traps.

I am not sure about the ones that you are talking about but know that the one's that are used for rats work really well the one's with the sticky stuff on them . It will hold anything there in place and it is easy to catch the mice with as you just put a piece of chocolate in the middle of the paper and the mouse will go for it everytime as mice seem to love chocolate .
I was always told growing up that mice liked cheese but over the years have realized that mice will go after anything sweet before cheese if they can .
Best of luck with this as I wouldn't be able to help someone with this problem as I am terrified of the mice not the traps lol :)

i know, people always think cheese and mice go together. but most of the traps now recomment to use peanut butter. i know lots of people who say that works best. so i wonder with the chocolate idea from you and the peanut butter. maybe i should leave a reaces peanut butter cup. lol

I do not blame you. I hate the snap traps. I can not put them down myself. My husband puts them down and cleans them out yuk. I like glue traps. These are litte pieces of cardboard that has glue on it and the mouse runs across it and gets stuck. You through mouse and glue trap away. These are a pain because the mouse will still be alive and you will need to put it in a bag and smash the bag against the wall killing the mouse. You may find this hard to do. I have no problem doing this. I wish you luck because they are hard to get rid of.

We used to have pest problems back in Toronto when we owned grocery stores. We don't use traps, it's just too scary to look at the aftermath. We use a kind of glue on a plastic plate. It works really well. Once we've caught a family of 3 on one plate. A little sad, but its either us or them. You can do what you want with it, let it out in a field or throw it in a bin.
