I have practiced a little meditation but to fully reap the rewards you must be committed to the practice. If you have tried meditating and found that it wasn't quiet for you I would urge you to try again! Once it works, or you're shown a bit of its power you will begin to see its value in practice. In my experience by the third or fourth time you can gain much insight into the minds processes. The goal of meditation is to quiet your mind and just be. The technique that got me started was the counting method. This summer i'll have some time on my hands and i think its the right time to start meditating again. Join me! If you have any advance i'm all ears to ya

I have heard about meditating but don't really understand what it is all about . Would you be able to explain it to me so that I can understand what it is about ? In different things I have tried it says that you need to meditate first and I have never understood what I was supposed to do and how this was supposed to help with anything . If you would mind sharing I would be intersted in hearing more about it :)

Meditation will help clear your mind and show you to who you are. At the start when you're trying to focus your mind can get flooded with thoughts the goal of meditation is quiet the mind and track the source for thoughts. Random phrases or events enter your brain who controls this? This is the goal of meditation to give you back control or to show you how much you really have. if you are serious at the start try to meditate half an hour a day and over time when this will be pleasurable and you will find yourself meditating longer naturally. The longest I have meditated for was under 2 hours but for me still significant there is a stage you reach that is pure bliss and nothing where time has seemingly no influence. With practice you will get a taste for meditation the key is to be patient enough for it to develop. Day to day humans have a lot to keep track of many thoughts that must be always present to keep us motivated through meditation you can eliminate these schemata up to the core of your existence if you are courageous enough to stay the course.

I am just learning about meditating and have just started the practice of. I understand it is wonderful for your body and mind and would love to start experiencing all I can from it. I am just a beginner though, so I really have nothing to share so far, but I hope to soon. I am excited about the prospect of bringing so many new positive things into my life.

erm.. what's the point of meditating? i do meditate.. but.. i don't seem to get any benefit from it.. i heard we can actually control our body by meditating? erm.. i also heard that any injure can be cured easily by meditating.. have you experience any of these? usually when i meditate.. i just close my eyes.. and concentrate on my breathing.. i don't do any countings because i thought my mind should be clear .. isn't that true? :)

First I would ask, how are you meditating? I like the breathing methods. Now I am a beginner so hopefully someone else can come here and help me spread the message but i will share with you my experiences. Meditation has opened my mind to my own my mind, after some practice you begin to learn how thoughts manifest in your brain and that if you feel like you have a noisey brain this is where you should pay attention. Because through meditation you can learn to control your reaction, lower stress and raise self esteem. To meditate you need good posture and too be relaxed. Focus your mind on the tip of your nose where the cold air enters and leaves and just practice slow long breathes through your nose. Whenever your mind wonders focus on your breathing more. To keep your mind from wandering you can try a counting method. Start 1 in out 2 in out 3 in out etc till 10 then start over again. Here you start counting then beging your breathing,. This method helps you focus on your "out" breath if you were to start like this: in out 1 in out 2 in out 3 etc till ten you would focus on your "in" breathe. Practice these until you get an understanding of what feelings you're looking for.. keep practicing i know you will find what you're looking for.

Focus on the center of the blobs and out of it you will see a new blob grow.. its kind've like if you are staring 10 ft a head of you and then someone puts a piece a paper right in front of your nose.. keep that vision and look into the middle center and even through the blobs while keeping your focus.. this is where i am at too.. we will have to wait here until someone can enlighten us further.

it sounds like when you meditate your mind is very active.. you should try to quiet it. One thing that shocked me was all of the crazy color blobs that appear if this is also what you were talking about my advice is to stare into the center of the blobs and a new color will engulf it until you reach another level of concentration. Keep at it!
