Well I'm a solitary practicioner. I follow a mix of practices that I have picked up over the years. I follow more of a Celtic tradition though then anything else. I don't follow the book really but I read what I can on different ways and take what I want from it. I find for me that works best. I'm very open to new ideas and ways so anything new to me I look throuhg and then determine if it's for me or not.

When I can. Life doesn't always let me do my meditation but I have in the past without a problem. Just right now the house life and my life just don't allow for it as much as I would like.

Solitary. I'm one of them free-stylers lol. I do things intuitively, doing things by the book..well never felt comfortable, or right. I always was one to do things my own way.
And as it happens, I seem to get better results that way.
*shrugs*
I dunno..I just like mysteries. Ideas and subjects which are tough to learn on your own..a challenge and learning in other words. And I find that the more I try on my own, the more I learn.

I started of in neo-druidism too! but that didn't really work out.. (can't find enough material on them where I live). Next was Wicca, but that didn't really work out either (some parts didn't really make sense...)
So in that end I just went ThisIsMyStyleIfYouHaveAProblemTalkToMyGoddess style. It has worked out pretty well for far :)

LOL! yep,
you started in neo-druidism? wow! it is a rare find indeed! the problem with Druidry, as you can imagine, is that after about a year or so, you learn everything you can, and it flows into Wiccan, eventually. (at least it did for me) and then you add some New age concepts, some Astrology, add a few other ingredients, and presto! Neo-Druid!
lol!
I have learned that a Druid learns everything they possibly can. that is what makes them so wise.

I blame Asterix, the angry old man with his magic (mushroom) potion in a pot struck deep into me. The book actually turned the key was The Druids by Peter Berresford Ellis. It was... err.. limited, but it fueled my passion, look where it got me now.
So much had been lost after you know what. Much of what we know now are bits and pieces taken from after sources and sewn together like a quilt. I prefer my own quilt now :)

um, are you a witch? can you tell me about this Wiccan practice you're mentioning.. I've heard about before and maybe its stupid of me to call you a witch but you know what that was the first thing that came into my head and I don't think i'm alone. What are the purpose of the different books? Are some more effective than others or does that depend on who you are

I am not a witch, but so what? my question is no different than if I asked someone what they studied as a christian, or any other sect.
Actually I am a Neo-Druid, which is not too different, but does have differences.
I tolerate many different religions, as I have had to all my life. I have been many things. Freedom of expression is an art form.

Very interesting how does do the Wiccan practices help you understand your reality? I don't mean to trivalizae you by suggesting you are a witch but you have to agree that the masses are in general not too knowledgable about Wiccans. So please help us learn.

actually, there are quite a few of them out there. I am a Neo-Druid, not a Witch. try a 'Sorcereress', I guess. My only interest is in the history that has been preserved by Witches in the celtic traditions, or Nordic Traditions. for this, if you want to understand, must seek your own quest, as I did mine.

I would say natural works for me. I'm a solitary practioner. My path is kinda eclectic between christian and gypsy magic. Tho I feel strong connection to celtic magic because I was born on Lughnasah. I practice meditation, visualization, spell-casting. I'm into Astrology ( more of a skill ). Tho I think my strongest talent would spell-casting and visualization. I never use a circle because I use a triangle. So I guess I'm quite rebellious not following the book LOL

OOOH! the celtic connection! yes, my Irish blood boils to know they might destroy a historical monument near the hill of Tara! I keep up to date on that, and sign every petition I can to halt the construction in that area, before it is destroyed. I wantto see it soooo bad! :)
blessings to you!
and, very interesting practice, you seem more of a magician, to me. a very fun art!
