Creating backups

How often do you create backups of your important files? Where do you store them? How do you label them? I personally create backups of my computer data once year or so. I now put them into DVDs and some large HDDs. I probably use up about 10-15 DVDs now as back up. I just take out a simple sharpie and write out the general classification of the files as a label on the disk.

Yeah, creating back-ups is important for really important documents. You never know what's gonna happened. Like for instance, the other day this computer i am using suddenly didn't boot and the screen said that the Windows cannot start. I had it checked by a technician, he said the hard drive was corrupted. He tried to create back up files for the documents but the Drive C won't open. It didn't help that the PC has partition since we never save the docs in there. I had this PC reformatted and get it running back but i lost all research paper/docs saved in C. It's all my mom's work and i havent told her that her files were all lost since she is out of town. I am just hoping that the updated files were all saved in her USB.

I use a HDD partition to backup my files turns out quiet handy at times!
