Gun Control, are your for or against

Canada has strict gun control rules, and the average citizen does not carry a gun. The United States differs as they have a right to bear arms. Some people say that the Virginia Massacre may never have happened if there was at least one person there with a gun. Do you believe that you need a gun to protect yourself, or carrying a gun only breeds more violence. If people didn't have guns they couldn't use the guns to fight their battles for them. I am Canadian, I do not believe that we have to carry a gun to live safely. What are your views and why
