What can you say about the VIP treatment he has been getting? I pity the Filipinos who are suffering with their illness in jail. Living behind the bars is not easy. What do you think?

Yes. It's sometimes unfair that people who are in the middle or high class society, when imprisoned, will have a better treatment. I mean they have a cleaner jail, etc. but to people who belongs to the low class, they tend to end up in jails that are so crowded and very unhygienic. They are all criminals (if it was proven), so there shouldn't be any differences between the different classes in the sociey. If one city jail is clean, make all city jails clean, sort of like that. I mean equality should be there. Despite of the class and the nationality.

for me, dineskie, since he is not yet proclaimed a criminal by the supreme court, it is just fine that he is kept under the custody of the us embassy. let them take care of his expenses for the moment, to include his comfort while in jail. if the supreme court will finally judge him to be guilty, that will be the time, when the philippine government will have a total hold of him.

It's unfair because he's on the custody of the US Embassy. And, he's not even behind the bars. He's not experiencing the excruciating heat our country's prisoners experience. I think Daniel Smith is already proven guilty, check out Inquirer's website and search for Daniel Smith.

i do not understand why we feel bad if daniel smith is kept in the custody of the us embassy. it is best that he is kept there because, we don't have to spend for his being kept in jail. the americans shoulder all the expenses for his food and guards. so, why do we worry about it instead of being thankful for the situation? it is because, we are being influenced by media to be thinking this way.
