Though I am an Indian, it does not mean that every Indian should praise India...... atleast not in all aspects. I have a very strong feeling that the Indian News Media is working like mad cows...... they do not know what they are doing and what they are trying to achieve. Its just that........ in the past 3-4 years........ there has been a rush in the Indian Corporate and anyone under the sun is setting up a "News Channel"..... a News broadcasting company......... I think we already have 10-15 TV News Channel companies. And, when you have so many News Channels...... there is a huge rush to be the first to cover a story........ be it good..... be it bad. These News channels are at times foregoing a good story and sticking out to a news story that is all rubbish....... something like...... which is not worth being broadcast..... and as these news channels run their news bulletins every 1 hour........ its is like you see the same thing again and again. A couple of months back....... a lil kid accidentally fell into a discarded "Borewell Duct"........ and believe me.......... News Channels were showing live coverage of the rescue operation........ nearly consuming 1 full hour of their regular bulletin and showing the same stuff....... and missing out other things that might have been important. Its just that........ they want to show only that news that makes more people view their channel. Is'nt this bad for the nation. And, doing so....... they at times broadcast stuff that is not important......... that "Richard Gere and Shipla Shetty kiss stuff"....... huh........ we all know Richard Gere is one of the best men on earth........ and he was doing something on "AIDS Awarness"........ and that too for free........... These things can make people disrespect the Indian News Media....... Thanks for reading my story....... :) I would appreciate if you would give your point of views on this....... :)

Being that I live in the US, I had wondered what all the hoopla over Richard Gere and Shipla Shetty was. I understand that in Indian culture that type of behavior is frowned upon, but honestly, I don't think he emant any harm by it and apologized profusely. Even Shipla thinks that the whole thing is too much. Getting arrested over that? I wanted to ask the question about it, but I did not want to step on anyones feelings or beliefs.
