Little girl holding breath out of anger?

What would you do if your child held their breath until they pass out everytime they get mad or get told off? I have a friend who is at a loss on what to do. Her daughter will hold her breath until she passes out, no matter what my friend tries to do to get her to release her breath (tickle etc.) Her daughter is 3.
