We are taking our kids on a 3 day cruise to the Bahamas when we are in Florida this summer. We have never been on a cruise. Any suggestions? We thought that the 3 day one would be best for the first time in case we get sea sick or something. Have you ever cruised? How about with kids?

I went on a one day cruise with my husband and my sons in September. We were looking into taking a three day cruise to the Bahamas this April, but things happened and we are going to Europe instead. After doing a lot of research we were leaning towards the cruise, where you sail to the Bahamas, spend a couple of nights at a hotel, and then sail back again. The main reason for this is that it was our first cruise, and I am not personally too happy about staying in a cabin. Other than that my only advise is to check out reviews for the cruiselines. I have found that customer reviews at trip advisor, hotels.com, epinion and other review sites, have been a great help in deciding which hotels etc. to stay at, since this is the most reliable way to get truthful information about something.

Wow, I am envious. I would love to go to Europe! I will check out the reviews. I didn't even think about that. Thanks!

Since you have kids, have you checked out Disney Cruise Line? They have an awesome 3 day Bahamas cruise. One of the stops is their private island, which is the most amazingly beautiful place I've ever been! Plus they have great kids' clubs on the ships, for when you want some adults only time!

not only have i been on a cruise, i used to work in one, too. but i've traveled in asian countries only. 3 days i say would never be enough for you alone how much more with your kids. its fun going on a cruise with lots of activities onboard, great food, and best tours offshore. kids can be taken cared of while you're away with your sweetheart. most cruise-liner have child care centers or youth staff to entertain children (oh, i was one :) ). seasick your problem? you can always take those seasick meds. most of the time you wont feel the ship moving anyways. happy cruisin'!

So should we have taken a longer cruise for the first time? I am just very leary with the kids going. We have 2 cabins right across from each other. My husband and I and my 6 yr old will be in one and my 2 boys 13 & 15 yrs will be in the other. Thanks for all your info. You must have had a blast working on a cruise:)
