How often do you go grocery shopping?

My girlfriend goes almost everyday to the supermarket to buy stuff. I try to go once a week. Make a list and buy everything I need for the week. It's too much trouble to go everyday. But she doesn't care. She wants fresh food and doesn't mind stopping after work. Then she complains she doesn't have time for stuff. I try to tell her to go just once a week. Drives me crazy, but what can you do?

We are staying on a Stud Farm. It is situated some 15 kilometres away from the Township. Though once in month we go to nearest City which is about 40 kilometres way from us to get grossaries for the months time, we often end up in making errands to this local market ij the town ship atleast one in a week! My wife inspite of my telling she comes up with something or other and because which some times we mneed to go to shopping even after a couple of days! I also don't say much agaist her as I too feel a bit change in driving for such a short distance on the road with comparitively less traffic! Ofcourse for getting vegetables and Non veg in the raw form it is better to go to town ship once in two days or three days as we get fresh things then! Because of natuire of job, I some times don't get time to go for shopping for weeks together ! To compensate this I take my wife for frequesnt shopping as and when it becomes feasible for me! The best thing would be making a monthly or weekly list and get the things from the shop for the stipulated period and dump them inthe refrigerator! But I think it is onlypossible on te paper and when it comes in practical life , I think every one of us is sailiong in the same boat ! Thanks for the topic of discussion! I enjoyed answering it!

You have little choice but to shop when you can. Living far away from the store forces you to shop when you can. I've often wondered what that would be like. Stocking up when you can. Sounds like it forces you to be more disciplined. If you forget something you can't just go back and get it. I have to do that all the time. And sometimes I will forget a bag and leave it on the check out counter and have to go back and get it! That's a pain. Thanks for commenting!

I actually dont really go for grocery shopping too often as I live by myself. I usually do it like once in two weeks or whenever I run out of supply. Doing it everyday is really depressing, and time consuming. Even if I want to, I just cant, since I have a full time job. So why not help your gf to do the grocery shopping for her like maybe 2 times a week or less rather than letting her do it everyday. she must be tired...

Chiquitita you sound just like my girlfriend! She's always asking me to go for her. Sometimes I do but sometimes I can't. Used to cause problems but we've worked it out. I go and help get the grocery's sometimes. And she makes lists and doesn't go as often as she used to. Relationships can be tough. So working that out has helped us a lot. We hardly ever fight over it anymore.

I go two or three times a week, or sometimes just when I run out of something. I se it more as an exercise opportunity than a shopping trip, though, since I hate spending money, My nearset grocery store is just under 1/2 kilometer away, so walking to it and back is good exercise, and contributes to me not gaining even more weight. Now, if I could just LOSE 50 pounds everyone would be happy!
