Tony Stewart Puts Foot In Mouth, Again

Tuesday night, 4/24, on his satellite radio show, Tony Stewart accused NASCAR of throwing cautions for debris to fix races. He compared it to wrestling staging fights so they could ensure the outcome. On Friday, 4/27, NASCAR called Tony into the Trailor for a little talk. Afterwards, Tony stated that he wouldn't be able to sit down for a while. NASCAR also promised some fines. What do you think NASCAR will or should do to Tony? Tony himself admitted to damaging the sport with his remarks. Tony also reminded us that he is usually his own worst enemy with his big mouth. Do you think Tony will stay in NASCAR long?

I love Tony and hope he is around for years to come. He does tend to shoot his mouth off, but if he gets fined for it and NASCAR does damage control I see no problem. I think people have a right to speak their mind. Maybe there is some truth to the accusations and maybe there isn't but they will think twice next time before they throw the caution. I think sometimes they throw it too much and it gets annoying.

Ya tony is one unique individual and rocks the nascar race scene, he ended up with a 10,000 dollar fine and he is on probation until the end of december, he is in trouble for not reporting to the media center for finishing second, he didn't get anything for the comments made. so ya he made out alright tho, he will still be tony stewart.

I think that Tony has a right to express his opinion on the matter...just so long as he doesn't state it as fact. Yes, he maybe fined by NACAR for doing so, but I don't think the punishment should go any further than that. I don't think he was out to intentionally harm the sport, only to express his views. You have to admit, it's kind of looked that way so far this season. I am a huge NACAR fan. I like Stewart, although he isn't my favorite, and some of his latest antics are making him even less of a fav. But, I think he will continue to run and give it his best in NASCAR, and I think he has every right to do so. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, that is what democracy is all about.

Well I enter this discussion on tip toes because I am NOT a Tony fan at all never have been never will be. I agree that each has their right to have an opinion however out of respect for the sport that pays for their lavish lifestyles I think that to make angry accusations to the WOLRD was both disrepectful and in poor taste. If he thought that those accusations were true then he should have demanded a meeting with the officials of NASCAR or ICS or whatever it's called. He's known for his reckless behavior and his reckless driving..... well then you have to be accountable for both. I think that NASCAR is falling prey to media demands like every other sport. DO I think it's cheating? No I think it sells tickets and air time.

matlgal, I have to disagree with you about Tony being a reckless driver and having a reckless behavior. He has really toned it down these past couple of years.

I agree with Tony 100% when it comes to the caution. They do tend to be very selective when they throw it. As for the fine for not speaking after the race it is one of those things where he will be fined if he does and he will be fined if he don't. To those of you who have AOL, not sure if you saw the pole or not about the subject but when I saw it 72% of the people agreed with Tony. I sure hope that Tony stays in NASCAR. I do think that a person has every right to state his or her opinion.

Wow I love him an Jr. both but I did not hear any of this. I just asked my husband about it cause he is more of the Tony fan than anyone in this house. I hope he stays in Nascar I would hate to see him leave. All he has to do is think befor he speaks and everything will turn out all right but that should be the question can he think befor he speaks. We will see if he learned his lession or not I guess. With the fines alone I would hope so but only Tony knows at this point I think.
