I'm not married but I have heard of my friends having a evil mother in law. A friend of mine has been married for years and she said her mother in law is so judgmental and never has given her a chance. She does not know what she did for her mother in law not to like her. When her mother in law is around she tries as much as possible to keep her tongue and not say anything out of the way. She tries to be nice as she can be to please her evil M* In Law. By the time the evening is over she is just in tears and her husband does not understand why she is so upset. How do you deal with your mother in law?

I get along great with my mother in law. The only thing I have to put up with is her telling the same story I have heard 101 times already..But you know what..I can put up with listening to the same story one more time if it makes her happy.

I fell in love, literally, with the-boy-next-door as a teenager. He graduated a year before I did but we got together just before he did. We loved each other very much and of course being young we made the mistake of getting pregnant. We didn't care, we wanted to get married and was proud of our love. Well, my mother-n-law didn't like me from the get-go; I had corrupted her only child. She wouldn't let us raise our son the way we saw fit, etc. Now that we have been gone our seperate ways, after 6 six years of marriage, she is the sweetest person and tells me that she considers me part of the family still. Go figure. I love her dearly, though. I think we have both grown up.

I'm very blessed that I have a wonderful Mother in law and father in law. They have been a huge help to us throughout our marriage, and we've been married 21 years! We used to live about 1/2 hour away from them when we first got married, then we moved 3 hours away, so we only get to see them every other month or so. But I very much enjoy the time that we spend together. My MIL is not judgmental at all, and has always been very supportive in the things that I do.
