More Pet Food Recalls--This time "organic" foods

It seems like the pet food recall disaster is far from over...as you remember during mid-March the Canadian pet manufacturer, Menu Pet Food, which produces pet food and places a variety of labels on it from the cheaper generic store brands to the expensive IAMS label was recalled due to first being told that there was rat poison from the wheat gluten that had been imported from China and used in the manufacture of the food, then we were told, no that it was Melomine, a chemical used in making plastics was found...Whatever the case may be, thousands of pet owners were affected horribly by the lose of their treasured pets due to the food. So many people have been turning to the most expensive "organic" pet foods--now here's the real kicker...seems they aren't exactly safe either...Their is now a recall of Dick Wan Patten's Natural Balance pet food, made here in Utah in America---according to them they are doing a voluntary recall beginning today and mentioned that in other words not to worry as no animals have gotten sick..oh, so why the recall? So like now what...are the organic pet foods going to make our pets sick too? http://www.naturalbalanceinc.com

god.this is awful. seems like none of the foods is safe anymore. i hadn't heard they switched to the melomine explanation-i don't buy it-i still think it was poison.sounds like they're trying to play it down :(

WOW! That does surprise me about the organic food being on recall. I wish they could fix all this and get everything back to normal so I don't have to worry about my pets food getting on the recall list. So far I have been lucky. But we do usually only give them dry food too. Although I know there has been at least one dry food on recall.

Geez, will the animals ever be able to eat again. I changed the wet food for my cats already, but both cats are pretty finicky about their food. I have found dry food that they will eat but the wet food is still something of a hit or miss deal. hopefully soon things will be more normal. To bad they don't put more inspectors on imports so this can be avoided.
