A local comedian in my country says that being a stand-up comedian is more difficult than being an actor-comedian. true, because once you're on-stage you will never know how your audiences will react right after you threw the punchline. And reactions do affect the performances of any type of live performer. In contrast with an actor-comedian who can have as many takes as he want and not be bothered by the reactions, live-performers must have wit and a quick-thinking mind in order to pull-off the stunt. That's why i really admire those guys.
I had watched skits by Rex Navarette who's a popular Filipino-American Stand-Up. The way he pokes on the Filipino Culture is so funny I just can't avoid watching them over and over again. The same goes true with Indian-Canadian Stand-Up Russel Peters. Damn I liked the way he immitates different accents - be it Indian, African or Chinese "Hey! Be a Man!". It really makes me laugh so hard I'm crying..
Do you have your favorites too? Might as well post and tell me your favorite skit. :)
