Chevorn Gas Profits Up 18%...over 4 Billion Dollars

To summerize the article below, Chevron Gas Companies have recored a first quarter profit of 4.7 billion dollars. It is up in profits by 18%. I know we didn't get an 18% pay raise. How does that make you the consumer feel? With what the consumer is paying per gas...this is disgusting. Chevron executives should be ashamed of themselves for gouging the hard working man. I think this should be looked into as price gouging and the people of the US and other countries that use Chevron gas and oil products should boycott them. What are your thoughts and feelings? http://www.mylot.com/w/newsarticle/190964.aspx

This is just disgusting. I think that America needs to do like the people of Brazil. You know that they are the only country that in completely independant of the need for foreign oil. If we were able to do this,. and just make our fuel with things like corn, and sugar cane our gas prices would drop by half. While we are still dependant of oil companies like cheveron will continue to grow, and gouge us for every cent that they can get.

I read that about Brazil. I agree, we need to be resourcful and come up with new fuels. In the meantime though, the greed of the oil companies has to be dealt with. I still say Boycott Chevron and all their products. Thanks for the response.

Trust me....you don't want to know what I think about that.okay maybe just the short version of it....I think it's disgusting how they are taking advantage of us.Chevron gas stations always seem to be higher than everybody els here and yet people keep buying form them.I try not to if I can help it. I'm just amazed that we can't do nothing about that.....i mean sure they want to make a profit....but that is just taking it a bit far.

I seriously am thinking BOYCOTT here. This mess is insane. The everyday working joe can't afford to drive to work, and these slick @$##^ are making bank. I don't think so. I am so mad, I'm sick at my stomach right now. Yeah, we all want to make a profit, but when middle class americans are having to choose between food or the gas to go to work, and these guys are flying jets across the country, something is dramatically wrong. Thank you winky73 for letting me vent. LOL

I have to agree, the more corrupt the person or the company the further ahead they get of us little guys. It's really quite sad. But you know, it says in the Bible, "the meek shall inherit the earth." Bless you my friend. :)

I know that I wish our income would go up with the cost of gas as if gas go's up then so does the food we eat. as it takes fuel to get the food to the stores. So fuel costs effect everything we need i.e. food. so our income needs to go up with the cost of gas.

Yes, because of the cost of fuel, not only do food prices go up, but other consumer goods as well. The inflation rate and our incomes are obviously not keeping pace. It's a sad sad thing. Thanks for your input mirage.

I used to enjoy driving with hubby to the beach, 1 1/2 hours away...we can't do that because of the cost of gas to get their and back anymore. It's sad and I don't see any near end in sight. Thanks my friend for your input.

Gas companies have beeen making huge profits for years they keep gouging us at the pump adn adn posting huge profits but keep blaming the huge rises on lack of oil lack of refineries, ditribution problems weather adn of course taxes which supposely accout for most of the price hikes funny never heard the goverment adding new taxes to gas.

It's just one of many big companies that feel no shame in taking from the American public and the American worker while they add to their own pockets. The sad part is that for years and years we Americans have stood for it and continue to buy their product or look the other way. It won't stop until we stop it.

Hey CDW I'm w/ you I think this should be considered proce gauging -I don't see any reason why the price of gas is headed towards $4 a gallon. Did you see that story about NY Taxi's going total electric to quote the guy he said this is not a concept car these cars are on the street,They looked like pt cruisers. If that is true why can't chrystler make these cars available to the general public? +'s 2 U :D

I thnk Boycotting is the answer, as well. There are so many alternative resources, they need to be tapped and made more freely available. I wouldn't support nay of these people if I could avoid being dependent on them.
