Early this morning, I went to my usualy marketting for fresh vegetables and meat with my son. We proceeded to the wet market for some fish which we miss for the week. After a few minutes there, and while paying, several times have I been touched by a beggar, asking for alms with outstretched palms. This happened 3 or 4 times. . I find this rather rude--touching you to beg. . close to considering these people a nuisance, at the same time moved by pity as these people may not have nothing for breakfast at all. Am I unchristian for being rude, or do you feel the same as I do? Anyway, I dropped a coin or two on the empty palm, and turned at once to leave. . Mendicants indeed are plentiful in our city.

Yap, that's true. It is being discouraged by local official for us not to give but you are torn between giving and not giving. By giving in you are encouraging them to beg and not look for work. But by not giving it's very un-christian. I hope our local officials will do something about them. It's also good if we could organize a private institution to look for them.

Great. . you're right, robert.. we are in dire need of agencies to help our beggars. . we private citizens can only do so much. Thanks
