As the Control liberals try again to ban guns and do away with the 2nd Ammendent and the UN wants to have a world wide ban on guns the Harvard Journal of Law & Public Policy comes to the rescue of the 2nd Ammendent. In a research article "Would Banning Firearms Reduce Murder and Suside? A Review of International Evidence" by Kates and Mauser, June 2006. You can read the study (107 pages)at http://law.bepress.com/expresso/eps/1413 or read a summary by doing a google search of would Banning Firearms Reduct Murder and Sucide? and check out the refrences to SAF.org. Some of the points made in the Research Study was that the more stringent the Gun Control Laws the more crime. Chicago and Washington DC have the strongest Gun Laws and the highest Crime Rate. They also point out that the most violent European Countries have the strongest Gun Control Laws. One statistic that is cited is that between 1973 and 1997 all gun ownership was up 103%, and hand gun ownership was up 163%. Gun Control advocates would say that this would lead to more crime and murders. However during the same time the murder rate went down 27.7%. It seems that the more Gun control themore crime and the greater danger to you.
