I'm so sick and tired of these fast food resturants with these rude people working there. I've been in the food business for 15 years and it didn't matter what kind of mood I was in...you are still polite to the customer! You say THANK YOU! Here, you get NONE of that! They are rude and short with you, they cuss each other out in front of you. It's rediculous!!! Today, at McDonalds while ordering our food (mine, my 5 year old and my 2 year old). I had my daughter sitting on the counter while I pulled my money out. Well, a girl that worked there walked up to the cashier and said "Did you steal out of my drawer?" And they went on from there into a full fledged argument about it! Right there, at lunch rush, arguing right in front of the 30 people standing there! Can you believe it??? I was just disgusted by it! How unprofessional can you be? THEN, I ran to Wendy's for my hubbies chili craving and I got "What can I get ya" at the speaker. Just a hand out of the first window, no total, just a hand, no THANK YOU... Then at the window where you pick up the food, I just got the bags handed out, not a word was said! I find this so irritating! DO you? Or am I just a picky b!tch? lol;-)

Yeah some people show their unprofessionalism in front of many people .. and one instance -- you have seen in Mc'donalds.. but the bad part is when they are rude as well as thankless

At least they were speaking English to you. Here, they hardly speak English, so when they repeat your order, you're kind of like uh huh. thank goodness for the electronic board that shows your order. The other day I ordered 2 chocolate and 1 vanilla shake. I ended up with 3 chocolate and 1 vanilla. I have nothing against accents, my husband has one, but he does not work where his speaking voice is almost paramount. Not to mention many times I ordered a sausage McMuffin only to get home and find a ham one. It's like they can't even wrap them right. So, no, you are not being a b@tch, you are just seeing where customer service is going... down the toilet. I hear a big flush coming soon.

Customer service has definitely taken a dive. Maybe you should report the money incident at McDonalds. I have found that they will make it right. I have started reporting things that are not right and most of the time have been real happy with the results.

I agree with you totally!! I am always saying Thank you and it is weird when I go to like McDonald's and I am the one saying Thank You, and not the workers there. I think it is rude, and young people are doing a job that they probably don't like. I have worked fast food before and I really had alot of fun!! I think it was probably my favorite job, we got to be silly when things were slow, but I always said Thank you.

It's sad when you see how customer service skills have gone down the drain in the past few years. Big companies still lecture and instill those values full bore, but young people these days don't respect anything, they have more electronics than a 1950 Sears store. I'm not saying there are not kids that are good, because I've seen plenty....but that category you're specifying usually just don't care about people, IMO. (In My Opinion)

The same things have happened to me in restaurants over here. But the one that got me really ticked off was when an expensive restaurant that i USED to frequent fired it's qualified waiters for a bunch of cheaper waiters. These guys walk about the place chatting among themselves and creating all kinds of havoc. And they were very rude. One thing I'm sure is that that hotel is going to be stoned by some one in the near future.

No you aren't being picky - that was just plain NUTS! And for the manager to not do anything??!!?? But on the flip side, I have worked in fast food since 2000....and let me tell ya, it has gotten progressively worse from MY side of the fence too. I usually work drive thru at a major fast food chain....and in just the last month have been called rude for asking if I could take their order after they had been sitting at the speaker for over a minute talking on their cell phone (I could hear their conversation), stupid because customers changed their order 3-4 times and then wanted what they originally order *rolls eyes* and the infamous and my least favorite "b!tch". And the last one usually comes out of the blue at the window to boot. What I hate in customers are when they order a medium meal at the speaker (where we do have a confirmations screen) then get to the window and want a king size meal all of a sudden - for the SAME price. Have gotten some really snide and hateful comments in just the past week alone over this....cuz the customer gets really ticked when I tell them I'll rering their order so they can pay for the size they want - they thought I'd just give them the larger meal without them paying for it! Customers seem to forget the people taking their orders are people too - yes they are my bread and butter but dang it, I deserve the same respect they do :( I am NOT stupid, deaf or a b!tch - and it's really starting to get to me lately too. My revenge?? Occasionally I will run into a rude customer somewhere other than work.....and have on occassion looked them right in the eye (cuz I could tell they DID recognize me lol) and said "Yeah - I am who you think I am and I think you're one of the rudest little jerks I've ever met....do you kiss your mom with that mouth?" Have had a few apoligies too lol. Sorry for the long rant....saw this topic and took the opportunity to vent *blushes* Now I need to head for bed cuz I have to be at work in less than 8 hours. If anyone is wondering - I'm no teenager - I'm 51 years old.

I KNOW what you mean! I also hate they dont care to even pay attention to you. Seriously latelly SO many people keep getting orders messed up. Whats wrong with that? Do they even train then? I rarely meet a nice person. Sometimes at Jack in the Box you get them. Reminds me. Right after we moved here, I walked 30 mint to get some food at Jack in the Box. It was a VERY windy day out. I walked in there with my little dog shes like 11 pounds max. Cost a lot dog. THEY WOULDNT LET ME ORDER FOOD! There was no sign on the door. I wasnt asking to eat there, just take it to go. They wanted me to tie up my dog, my costly small little dog on a huge windy day outside so I could get food to go. I'd gone into our local Carl's Jr before we moved near my house. I did take out they NEVER told me NOT to bring the dog in! It was mean and horrible! :((

I know what you mean! I have had simalar experiences, especially at McDonalds. I also hate that it when they make mistakes and then don't even apologize for it. It is like they think that they don't have to have manners at all!

Omg I'd say there is a reason why they are rude too, I mean they are working at a fast food restaurant, nothing bad about that, but the aura there has always been negative. If you smile in a fastfood joint your are a miracle, so good work if you do that! really

Considering that fast food workers are mostly teenagers and young people, and that what adults work in fast food are over worked under paid and very under appreciated by customers as a whole, I think you are lucky that you even got your food. :((

Sorry to hear about your bad experience. In Singapore at least, the staff at Macs are pretty polite and nice. And we have a good number of the elderly working behind the counter. Macs has pretty good customer service (but the food is way expensive!! :P), at least in Singapore.

I am so with you on this. fast food people are the reudest people that I have met and its like if you dont wanna work there...then dont@ Dont blame all of us because you are stuck at that job and hate it. But msot of them do and it shows with everything that they do. Just like how they cant follow simple rules or questions that you ask them...LIKE CAN I HAVE A CUP FOR WATER FOR MY SON.....did you think i got one? NOOO! I had to ask 3 times for this in order to actually get one...How annoying! They did treat you very rudely, but then again I guess I just expect it from people at these places.

The ones that really bug me are the ones that don't even look at you and they go threw the things they are supposed to ask like they are in a trance! At least pretend to acknowledge me! If they worked for me they would certainly have a new attitude or they would be out the door. Customer service is at an all time low. I work in customer service and I Thank every customer. It is habit and I believe in good form. I find that older women working at drive thrus and fast food places have better manners and service. I often wonder why they are there. Was it because of divorce, children out of the nest or financial problems or are they just bored and want to work? Whatever the reason I prefer the line with the older cashier!

if i am in a similar situation i will be mad too.good service always comes in the first place in hospitality industry.but some ppl totally have no idea of it of they just ignore it.when those fast food working staff are really being impolite and doing bad service,we shouldnt hesitate to make a complaint.
