I have recently adopted a stray dog and would like to know its breed. Actually, my pup Muffy lokks exactly like the pup in the Mask,so much so that my friends called him Milo.He is a three month old pup, n is developing teeth. He has one bad habit, which I want to confirm is natuural or not. He greets everyone by bitibg them, well not exactly biting them, but opening his mouth n putting their hands in his muoth. Since he has already got some of his Molars, they r proving to be quite a nuisance when he comes to greet us.I tried to teach him to lick us as a sign to greet us, but nothin happens. He licks us occasionally, but bites or playfully puts our hands in his mouth. Is this natural...?I need help cause this is my first pet ever...

with the description you gave about your dog being a look alike of Milo he could be a jack russle terrier mix or just a mutt. Any ways keep in mind its not the breed that matters its the dog, now for the teething I would agree on one of the posts that say he is not submissive. Try correcting it with behavioral therapy. Step 1. Dont feed him before you do, because in the wild dominant animals eat first before the submissive ones, and when your eating make sure he sees it. I know it may look a bit cruel but it will help him see whose boss. Step 2. When you have the time flip him over on his belly, and try grasping his neck gently and thus preventing him from getting up. Stay on this position until he makes a squeak of submission. This mimics the behavior of alpha wolves on their subordinates. Step 3. When correcting him verbally say no! in an audible and firm voice, not a shout ofcourse just enough to suddenly get his attention then point at him and try to flip him over and make him submit. Eventually he will see you as his boss and then begin obidience training when he shows progress. I have done this with five dogs already it works. P.S. when correcting him make eye contact and allow him to look away from you not the other way around.

Post a picture and I can help you figure out what breeds hey may be. Though it's easier to tell once they are fully mature. As for the mouthing, if you don't like it, then correct it when it happens. You cannot teach a dog to lick you because licking is a sign of submission. Obviously the dog is not submissive if he's putting his teeth on you. Correct the behaviors you don't like and reward the ones you do.

If you can get a full body picture that would be better. From just the picture he could be anything from a Basenji to a Smooth Fox Terrier.

Without seeing your dog it is hard for me to tell what breed. But I've known retrievers to put their mouth around something when they get excited. I have a friend who trained her dog by handing him a toy to put in his mouth when people come to graet him so that he can be petted safely. And I often see people walking their retrievers and they have given them something to hold in their mouth, sometimes even the leash! My friend trains her dog with a pump bottle, spraying him with lemon juice and water when he's behaving in a way they don't want him too. Another dog she had was very excitable and she put a handful of pennies in a pop can, taped over the top and would shake it once aggressively to make him stop whatever it was he was doing she didn't want him to do. You might try these idas. Hope it works.
