Why are rhino horns so precious?

I know of a man who made thousands of dollars from the sale of rhino horns. He became very rich! Why are rhino horns so precious?

Some cultures view rhino horns as having magical /mystical or medicinal powers. The Chinese culture believes this and also use rhino horns for ornamental purposes. I've read that other cultures believe that powder from the horn of a rhino is an aphrodisiac. Who would have thought that?! lol. I would guess that your friend has made his money because of the popularity of rhino horns. Hugs.

I have heard about the aphrodisiac story and i think it is not a laughable matter-it is very effective according to those who have used it. Rumours is doing the round in my home town that older men prefer it to viagra! thanks for your response iredell!
