One of your family members is very sick, and you are the only person who could donate a kidney, this is not your son or your husband, it is an aunt, a cousin, etc. The hospital ahs asked you and let's you know that they will not be able to find a suitable donar if you refuse in time, would you do it to save the family members life?
Would you do it if it wasn't a family member but the neighbour next door?, a co-worker, the teller at the grocery store,
Could you say no even knowing that this person will die without your kidney?
Give your answers why you would or would not donate to a family member,
and to
an outsider.

Yes I would give an organ that I didn't need to a family member or even to someone I do not know..I had offered my kidney to my sisters that have kidney disease but they are not able to accept a kidney because of their illness..I still have 2 living sisters with the disease..I would think that if I was able to give it then I should do so...We have to do what we can when we can because we may never have the chance again...

Cool question
Right away I want to say "yes", I'd donate regardless of who the person was who needed it. I know I only need one kidney to survive so that doesn't present a problem. I also know I am quite healthy and at an age where the surgery wouldn't cause too many problems. The only thing that might give me second thoughts is knowing that after the surgery, the person who receives my kidney will feel much better than me. I just can't imagine me refusing to help someone when I know I can.

I have thought of such a situation. I can not do it as I have to many other health issues. Also, In my early years, I had some difficulty with kidneys so that organ I could not risk.
I have bequethed my inner ears upon deaf for research.
I would try to find another donor for them.
