Where Did You Go On Your First Date?

On my first date I went out with a guy named Joseph. We went to the theater to see the movie Purple Rain, starring Prince. Joseph was old enough to drive, but I wasn't. Our first date also happened to be for my birthday. I had asked him to buy me an engagement ring and he did. He bought it from JCPenny. This was my first real boyfriend and he was very nice. We stayed together for a while and I wore is ring, until my next boyfriend took it and put it on a chain around his neck. He was not so nice, but he was the one that I stayed with the longest, go figure. I don't really remember being nervous on my first date. Maybe because I was use to being around guys that I was not related to, having grown up in foster care.

I can't remember my first date, but I'm sure it was a movie and dinner date. Why did you broke up with the nicer guy?

Because, I was young and silly, but at the same time, he was too nice and believe me there is such a thing as being to nice. He never got mad, no matter what I did and it started to get on my nerves.

Wow, I can't even remember to be honest. The first date I went on with my now wife was to a bar called Senor Frogs. There were a bunch of people there so it didn't really count as an official date in my mind. A couple of days after that we went to see "Independence Day" in the theater...a big stretch for her as she hates those kinds of movies...she must have really liked me...LOL

It is still a date if there are a lot of people around. Obviously, she found something special about you, besides your taste in movies, you won her heart. That is so romantic.

I laughed when I first read this post because my first date was nothing like I ever thought it would be! He was my first real boyfriend, we went out to my campus and we spent hours talking or rather he told many things about himself and I was gladly observed everything. He was actually not feeling well, having bad stomache and couldn't eat anything during those hours. He was a full-time minister and was scheduled to preach a few hours away from our date so during that time he also spent some times preparing for his sermon. What a date, right? LOL! But still we ended it up by having our first meal together after finishing his sermon. I think I was calm and not nervous, but I kept couldn't believe that this guy was officially my boyfriend. He was my teacher at theology class for laities and I was used to picturing him as my teacher, not a boyfriend, so it was very funny indeed, yet worth-remembering. Thanks for this post that brought smiles to my tired face...=D

Yes Rozie I felt so special but not because of who he is but because of how he treated me. He often made me feel special regardless of what profession he carried, I just didn't see things that way...=) Glad to hear that you have your sister & her husband in the place of your parents, especially since they are people who fear and love God!

You must have felt pretty special, dating the teacher/minister and all. Now that would make me nervous. I would feel so much pressure. My sister is married to an elder at our church, but they were married long before he became the elder. But, now that he is the elder, they watch my sister like a hawk. They dragged her into the Women's Fellowship and everything, but she is perfect for the role and does a very good job. She and her husband are both my earthly heros.

Ooooooh, naughty, naughty. No, I am just kidding. It sounds like you had a great time. That was a classic date. Boy invites girl to admire him, while he does his thing, gives her ice-cream and a kiss. That is just too cute.

I really enjoyed reading your story about your first date. Brings back lots of memories I had forgotten about. I hadn't thought about my first date in way too many years. I too went to the movies with my boyfriend. Can't remember what we saw, I was so in awe of him and talking to him and holding his hand, etc. that I didn't watch the movie. I was so afraid of saying the wrong thing or acting funny or spilling popcorn or coke on my outfit. This is a really enjoyable discussion, I can't wait to read all the posts on it :)

Reading your post was a lot of fun. This is the kind of first dates that we see on television. Your first date was very cute. I can't help laughing at your nervousness.
