Here in Minnesota USA we have a very well known theatre known as The Guthrie. They have many plays, musicals, and broadway numbers performed here. Mostly by resident actors, actresses, singers, dancers etc. But of course we also have top name stars that come around. One of the latest was technicolor Dreamcoat starring Donny Osmond. Yes that Donny Osmond. Anyhow I was downtown today and walked around the newly opened new building. It has a skyway type of walkway that leads to the river. The strange thing is that theres no coloumns underneath. As you look at the picture imagine you're up there. In the very right and left corners at the very end is a small platform to stand and look out over The Mississippi River. Check out the photo of it. As I make comments to responses I'll add other pictures of the great landscape and art that's outside. Heres a brief fact of the history of the theatre. The Guthrie Theater opened on May 7,1963 with a production of Hamlet directed by Sir Tyrone Guthrie, the theater's founder. The idea of the theater began in 1959 during a series of conversations among Guthrie and two colleagues—Oliver Rea and Peter Zeisler—who were disenchanted with Broadway. They wanted to create a theater with a resident acting company that would perform the classics in rotating repertory with the highest professional standards. Heres a link to the sight. Check it out. This theatre is breathe taking. Enjoy and have a great day/eveing all. http://www.guthrietheater.org/about_the_guthrie HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~

Wow! You are so blessed to have something like that available in your area. I live in a rural area and we have to travel several hours to see any professsional word. We do have a School of the Arts nearby, however, and get some good amateur productions there. I do love to go to plays, concerts, etc. when I have the chance.

I've lived here for 30 years and have yet to see any plays here though. Before I met my wife I'd seen a few in Chicago and New York though. Attatched is a photo of the building. Check it out. Thanks for the response also. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~
