I have just installed and run some new virus software and my partner is currently helpless with laughter because he let me run the programme, I was very happy that nothing was found, and then he asked "did you download the updates" grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr What do you think? No, of course I hadn't so now I have to do that and run it all over again! So please gain from my pain and remember to update before you run.

well, ordinarily I do not download things as this is considered "technical" and Other Half does all the "technical" in case I muck it up, but this time I did it myself and he is ever so smug about the whole thing. As to the screen, nope, you haven't been over lately to do that for me lol.

Exactly! Not every programme reminds you about upgrades though, especially if it is the free version, so I thought I would let everyone know.

And even now, three months after this discussion you are still having problems because the computer people haven't done their job properly. Let's hope that it finally gets sorted and you can get down to some work in peace.

Oh do not worry to much as I am sure that you are not the only one that has made this mistake I think nearly all of us have done this one before it is very annoying as we think everything is right when we have forgotten one thing or another we are only humans after all xx

Human I may be, but I would be an incancescent human if I got a virus through my own stupidity. I wondered if newbies would know about updates, hence the post. I am looking for a spam guard which lets through mails I want as well as banning the spam, which I am totally fed up with, but last time I put on a spam guard half my friends mails did not get through either lol.

when you install new programs or software usually they will ask you if you want an automatic update or notify you first before they will update it. in my case i have the automatic mode turned on all the time. my nod32 anti virus system gets automatic updates every now and then without asking me if i needed updates.
