The Morning After The Night Before.........

Ever had that awful feeling, when you wake up in the morning and suddenly remember the night before and feel quite embarrassed?
I admit it has happened to me a few times, memories start to flood back and quickly I pull the bed covers over my head.
Have you ever experienced this and dread the thought of meeting that person, or people again because it would be too embarrassing?

The morning after syndrome has not happened to me ever maybe because I do not drink much whenever I drink, which in itself is a rare occasion.
But there are things I have said and done plenty of times (fully aware) which I regret plenty and have felt awful about. Although I can not change the situation I often make amends. I have become more patient now in my attitude so now I do not have those awful, embarassing moments. Thansk for asking

You are very good for not drinking, it can be a curse sometimes!!LOL
It is the best thing to do, to try and resolve issues and then avoid anymore happening.
I am trying!!
Thanks

It sounds like you are their guardian angel and make sure they get home in one piece.
I don't blame you for not drinking if this is what drink does to your friends!!LOL
Cheers!!

I used have colleagues who drank too much and made a fool of themselves and the next morning would avoid me totally and not even look me in the eye... I had often wondered how do they look into their spouses eye the next day? what do they tell their children? do they tell the truth or do they lie??? I have always found the situations funny and also stressful specially if the person is unable to drive then you as friend have to accompany them to their home, ring the bell or they might have to sleep in the porch.
I also have some friends who drink a tad too much and then the next day becomes a great burden for them 'cos they do not know what they had said and it is fun to pull their legs to no end.

Oh yeah quite a few times when I were younger, nowadays though it's very rare that I go out drinking as I usually prefer to drive. It's fun reminding everyone else what they got up to the night before and great for blackmailing them too!

Its great when you see everyone else being silly when you are sober.
I am often like this when I go out with work colleagues. Its so funny the next day at work and I can laugh at their drunkeness!!
Haven't thought of blackmail. Thanks for the suggestion.
I see its a new moon tonight so I have shaken some pennies. I hope this will bring me wealth.
Thanks Bizziebod!

I've over the hill so it's happened to me a few times. I don't still feel bad about it. I've tried to learn to avoid those situations and you will also learn this. So grin and bare it.

Hi. I have had that feeling too. Too many times to count or remember. It's like how I wished to be invisible for just the next day. Until I can laugh off my embarrassment. The hundred whatifs, shouldhaves, etc I have to go through the next day is agony. Keeps on adding to the embarrassment. Oh the memories. Thanks and good day!

Sounds like you have a few good memories!!LOL
Sometimes our flashbacks can seem quite funny years later, even when at the time we just want a great big hole to appear and swallow us up.
Thanks.

Unfortunately or fortunately (as the case may be) I never have. Maybe it's because I have lived my life doing things that matter to me with no regrets whatsoever. I refuse to look back and worry....just as I don't worry about the future. I live for today and it is enough for me. +

You are very wise gifana, unlike so many of us who do things and then have to face the consequences of our actions the next day.
I must admit though I do enjoy a quiet time on my own, even now, when I can reminisce about my past mishaps.
Enjoy each day as it comes and as Robbie Williams says "No regrets, they don't work" LOL
Thanks.

Oh yes. My younger days are starting to come back to me now. Let me see there was the time we went to an event at a stadium and I stole a chick. Someone found the poor thing a home on a farm. That was mild. I did some crazy things. I shudder to think of them now. I just hope my kids don't do anything so embarrassing as I have done in the past.

Whats so great though, is the freedom to do these things when we are young and have no responsibilities.
I think we all shudder at the thought of our own kids getting up to what we did when we were young, but that does make it funny, as its our secret, and hopefully they will never find out!!

I think these can be the worse days of our lives, especially with all the flashbacks.

More times than I care to admit, especially in my late teens and early twenties. We worked hard and we played hard and we certainyl knocked a few back. I wouldn't trade those years for anything though. You had to take the zingers with the good times, too.
