Wal-Mart doesn't really fear being robbed by some stranger off the street. The company is more worried about being robbed by its own employees. Yes Wal-Mart does hvae security but you hardly ever see the security gaurds. The use their managers to chase down thieves and such.
I worked for Wal-Mart for two years. In the length of time I saw a security gaurd twice. I only got to see security then because I was helping to open a new store and security would stand at the front of the store to search your lunch bag as you were leaving.
There was one time a customer had her purse stolen. She reported to an associate who called management. It was a manager who chased down the criminal not a security gaurd.

There is no reason for it. They should be able to keep their employees safe. It isn't like they cannot afford it. It is so sad we cannot even feel safe when we go to work.

In my opinion... most WalMarts are lacking when it comes to Good Security which I feel is a shame. As much money as this Company makes, why do they risk allowing so much Crime and stuff to happen there? You would think they would want to Create a Good atmosphere for people to work and shop in, instead of inviting Crime. The problem I see especially, is when they tend to build WalMarts in obscure places away from the normal traffic areas, and have it dark outside, etc. I would think they would consider Safety as an issue especially for their employees.
But in all reality, in this day and age, you never know if you work in Retail or Sales when you are going to be places in the wrong situation and be robbed. Even places with the Best Security get hit as well. You just need to learn to keep on your toes and be prepared for any situation and just hope for the Best if it does happen to you.

ha, ha...maybe it was self robbery to cover fraud? Wal-Mart’s security keeps he eye on poor people, so anyone who is wearing gold Rolex is out of question....I am just speculating, but usual is how it works...

Well,
That would not make sense to me because I see the Brinks Truck come in during the day when I am there sometimes to pick up that mornings earnings.
Therefore, the evening earnings would probably be stored in a vault somswhere in the store. I mean, sure, there may be individual registers that are robbed, but of what? $200 dollars at most.
This is highly unlikely to be a big loss to WalMart and if no one gets hurt, then let the robber get away with it. To lose you life over $200 would be pathetic and even Walmart security could not stop that crime from occuring I am sure.
